I'm an american jeweler, thinking of going to australia to try my hand at opal mining. I'm thinking specifically of going to Coober Pedy. So far I haven't had much luck at finding information about this. I could wait until the next Tuscon trade show to talk to someone, but that's not until net year and I'm feeling a little impatient. If anyone out there has any insight, suggestions or advice I would highly appreciate it. I'm not even sure Coober Pedy's the place I want to be. Let me know what you think.

Thanx

I haven't personally met Opal or Mr Pedy, but shouldn't you ask her permission directly?
