Of course it's cruel. Any time you cause an animal to suffer for your enjoyment, you are a sick and cruel human being.
"Tradition" is the copout they fall back on when their sick enjoyment is threatened or called out.I see no two ways about this.
It's like out here and closer to the border we have cockfighting even though it's illegal. The Mexicans claim it's their tradition and even our bigwig council member said it was a "part of Arizona's history." Jesus. So is Yuma prison but that ain't anything to be proud of either. It's ignorant. Just ignorant. As long as people continue to see animals as worth less than humans, this sorry sickness will continue. It has to be fought mercilessly until it's dead...dead...dead!

Our friends have just come back from overseas & they went to a bullfight.
They said they sat & watched for about 1/2 hour & felt sick to the stomach.
The only reason they stayed that long was they were living in hope the bull would defend itself.
They didn't want the person to get hurt but would have loved the bull to do a charge like they do when you have them penned up in cattle yards.
I could never go to watch any part of a bullfight:-1

Bullfighting is a cruel and unnecessary pastime in which the severely disadvantaged bull is tortured over a prolonged period before meeting almost certain death. It should be abolished. How someone can view it as a sport and pay to watch it is beyond me.

I agree Chez, its something i would never go to watch!
they should put the bull out of its misery if they wanna kill it instead of making it suffer by having to endure such a prolonged death!
