This is really bad......

I believe I mentioned that I am working on a project way, way, out in the country. It is the place I was headed to earlier this week, when the truck caught on fire. It is a little 2 bedroom house sitting on 5 acres surrounded by woods. There is a pond on the property, with ducks. It is so secluded, off the road, that really only other residents know it is there. It is for sale. It is the little place of my dreams, from when I was younger. But now, its just too secluded for a female living alone, and too far from going to work.
Anyway it is about 35 or 40 miles out of town, up on a mountain. You weave your way up on a narrow dirt road that winds through forest, rich with green lush ferns, moss, and a stream trickling down below. Deer run across the road, and the only sounds are birds chirping, and hawks screaching.
I have been up there at least 6 times in the past 10 days. I headed up there at about 4pm today. Planned on working till 7, and then home.
Somewhere about 3/4 of the way there, I became completely lost. Every tree and rock looked the same. Every curve in the road became unfamiliar. There arent any people or gas stations around. Actually it is in the George Washington National Forest. I got really panicky, and scared. I was afraid of running out of gas, and afraid of it getting dark. The further I drove the more unfamiliar the forest became.
Around the time I decided that if I could figure where the heck I was, I would just head home..... I saw 2 people walking a dog. I pulled over, explained that I was lost. I didnt know the name of the little hollow where this house was. Even though I had driven about 20 miles past where I was supposed to be, I just said the owners name, and the woman told me exactly where to go.
It was an awful experience. I felt like the guy in Ground Hog Day. Made me very nervous, and feeling not so confident about being the little adventurer, who is never afraid to go anywhere. It sort of felt like a horror movie. Like the location had disappeared. Which would mean, I had never really been there before.
As far as the woman with the dog gettin me back on track, I can only say.." Only in the country. As for me...... Im thinking its Ginko Baloba time....
