Everyone has something they do or something about them, even if they don't realize its quirkiness.

Like I have to sing along whenever Rod Stewart's "Maggie May" comes on. Even if I'm in a dressing room or the market, if it comes on, I sing to it. I don't even think about it.

I consider railroad trestles to be lucky things and I make wishes when I pass one. I also take pictures of them.

When I see a dead animal on the roadside, I touch my forehead and ask for blessings for it on its behalf. That it didn't suffer and that it's soul doesn't remember the pain and fear it felt when it was hit.

I wish on fountains and throw in coins.

In a restaurant I have to fold my straw paper into a tiny square then stretch it back out. I do this until the thing falls apart or my food arrives, whichever is first.

I'll be back if I think of more. And that's the thing, quirks you have may be so normal to you that you have to think of what yours may be.

So what are yours...?

I always have to sit with my legs crossed up on the seat no matter where I am, car, restaurant, etc. (what they used to call Indian-style in my day but that's not PC anymore so I never know what to call it! In pre-school they tell the kids to sit 'criss cross applesauce'.) Is babbling a quirk?? :wah:

in restaurants I always have to keep the table clean the whole time. I stack dishes, pick up any paper or food scraps off the table, wipe down any messes, etc.

I'm always fidgeting in some way, I can never sit or lay perfectly still.



I'll have to think of some more, I'm sure there's plenty...

I'm addicted to lip balm. I can never leave my lips naked.

After a fresh snow, I can't resist writing my name in it. (Yellow ink). :wah:

If im cooking food that isnt for me I cant taste it, may aswell be dog food, so I always call hubby to test the kids tea incase its too hot.

I never buy food from the front of the shelf, always dig to the back/bottom.

Some smells make me heave, bins--> fridges--> coffee/ cigarette/alcohol breathe--

I always brush my teeth the same way for 5 minutes twice a day.

If I see an ambulance I always salute while hopping on one foot, for a hearse I tip my pretend hat..

I save every ticket from buses,trains,pictures,theme parks.

I cant stand people scraping food off plates and piling it on another plate, especially at the table, makes me wanna vomit.

I eat my veg first then my potato and then my meat on a roast dinner, I dont mix them.

I cant eat of someone elses plate if they have already started eating or eat left overs.

I have a touch of OCD...not as bad as "Monk" though.

Oh Jannie....I could go on and on. But, I have a lot of company and leave them be while they're here....They love that I'm easy about messes...little do they know:wah: It's all good...I just reorganize when they leave and everyone has had a good time at the beach:-4

If I hear a song I know, I will sing to it no matter where I am.

I always have to sit where my legs are touching at the knees and my feet are around my bottom.

Like Sunny, I always have to have my chapstick on or I go insane.

I always check my teeth before I go in anywhere so I don't have something stuck in there and look stupid...if I don't have a mirror, I ask hubby or one of the kids.

I always sleep with a teddy bear and snuggle with it or I can't go to sleep.

I will NOT go on an airplane...never have, never will....but my whole family have been on one at least once. I'd rather drive 2000 miles than to fly.

When I'm home I always wear a nightshirt...When I've been out, the first thing I do when I get home is to put my nightshirt back on.

That's all I can think of now...I'm sure there are many others! :wah:

Oh, and I can't have any stains on anyones clothes. I'll wash them 5 or 6 times, scubbing them everytime and spray them with stain cleaner. If it's white, I'll put bleach on an old washclothe and rub it directly into the stain. I just can't handle stains.

Good question!!. Me well. i say i am sorry to much. also sing very loud in the car. alone,that is. when i get home from somewhere always tell the dogs, Hello BABIES!! always clean the house starting from the master bath. In the morning i always make the coffee. then turn on the computer, then have a smoke. I am a creature of habbit. i will drive the same way all the time. I am told i take the senic route:wah:

I used to need a radio on, but now I can't tolerate any noise, but I have a fan that blows on my face every day of the year. I can't sleep without a fan.

I don't like people cooking in my kitchen. Drives me crazy for folks to use my kitchen stuff.

If I want to take a nap on the couch, I always turn the tv on to the weather channel.

If I'm on the couch I have to have a blanket, even if it's a 100 degrees outside.

I always sleep on my back, with my head covered up and feet sticking out.

i have the tv on to go to sleep!

i cannot keep the same clothes on in the house that i've worn out anywhere, the first thing i do when i get home is change clothes!

i will not wear shoes in the house!

someone spitting or blowing their nose around me will make me heave!

i have to put the towels in the linen closet grouped together by color, i can't just stuff them in there any kind of way!

i don't want anybody cooking in my kitchen or fooling with any of my stuff!

I have another one that I would have forgotten because it's so normal to me. I have to use my shirt or nightshirt to open the door. In public restrooms I use a wad of towels or my shirttail if I must. But at home where my house is clean I still do it with all our doorknobs. I have to use the hem of my shirt to turn them. I didn't even think about it until a friend who was over asked me what was wrong with me.

If I spill salt, I can never remember which shoulder it goes over so I toss some over both. My floor usually has some salt on it.

I have to have the loo paper coming over the top of the roll ,not hanging down the back of the roll.

If I see it the wrong way I have to change it no matter where I am.

I have to go to sleep on my left side with my right hand touching the bed side table.

i count things, stairs as i go up or down them, cutlery when im drying it,,,,,,,,, that can be a pain cos i work in a cafe !!

cant leave odd bisuits or anything for that matter in a packet, if theres three, ive got to eat the odd one.

the worst one is that i always blow on my darts if im going for an out shot !!

I would be barefoot all the time, everywhere if I could. I hate wearing anything on my feet.

all the clothes in the closet have to face the same way.

I always wash my hands as soon as I get in the house.

Cor Blimey I'm glad I'm pretty much laid back after reading all your funny quirks :wah:

I sleep whichever way takes my fancy, the toilet roll can go on the holder whichever way it happens to get there, I don't mind if anyone cooks in my kitchen as long as they clean up after themselves properly.

One thing I do do that someone pointed out to me is sniff my food before I eat it and apparently I always take the food off the implement with my teeth rather than my lips. :rolleyes:

I always have to look through my food before I eat it.

I didn't think it was strange but my friends would always pick on me.

I still don't think it's strange, I can't imagine just grabbing something and biting into it! If there's a finger or a creature in there I'd prefer to know about it before biting into it! :yh_sick :wah:

owwwww don't even get me started on the ritual i have to go though to try and use a public restroom!

I guess most of my quirks are quite disgusting, because I'm a lazy single guy, and I've not had sex for about a year.

I won't go to the launderette until I've run out of almost all my clothes.

I won't do the washing up until I've run out of crockery.

I sleep on the floor (because the bed is holding up the curtain rail).

I won't talk about myself much AFK.

I collect ring pulls from cans.

will not ANYONE go in my purse. i will not go in hubby's wallet. i don;t wear shoes in the house. i brush my hair before i go in anyone home or buissness. i always get up earlier then i need to to go to work. i like being alone in the morning.

Most of you posting in this thread are young people. You guys are just practicing. When you get older, you are entitled to quirks or eccentricities. People expect this of you. Who wants to be a boring little old lady or man?

I am a Virgo (sorry to all other Virgo's here) but....

1. All boxes in cabinets must be arranged by height

2. Canned veggies in the cabinets are arranged by alphabetical order

3. There is a place for everything and everything needs to be in place

4. I am a neat freak and the house has to be clean like you would expect company at any given moment.

5. If you believe anything I just said, shame on you :wah:

I never touch handles of any type I pull down my sleeve to do it.
