Short answer. YES.

Friends keep in touch. It doesn't take a reunion to get them together.

Perhaps, but I don't think so. Maybe the 10 or 20 year Reunion. I missed my 10th and 20th High School Reunion but made the 50th. Over 200 attended and the general feeling was that they were all happy to have lived long enough to be able to attend. Given the fact that it was the class of 1952 with the Korean War still going and then later Viet Nam, it was surprising that so few died as a result of those conflicts. Our class has too many successful grads that would preclude the organizers of the reunion from crowing about their own success.

I'm with CVX. If you are friends you keep in touch anyway. Can't think of a single person from highschool that I would want to see that I couldn't call up directly.

I skipped both my 10th and 20th reunions. I hated high school and would never relate to the people I hung out with back in the early 80's. It would be intriguing to see if the class Barbie got fat and ugly, or if the school geek became a heart throb but wandering into a room full of people desperate to show off their accomplishments rings phony to me. Koan is right; Real friends would stay in touch. High school was the most emotionally unstable time of my life. Good Riddance Winnetonka!

Went to the 20th, after an hour of "remember whens", it became clear that i didn't want "these people" to affect the memories of my H.S. years. Talking to, and looking at some former dates however, did provide my wife with several years worth of " boy did I save you" quips. College, no way I was gonna give the alumni assn. any evidence that I was still alive.

I can count on one hand the amount of people that I would want to hang out from high school. College, for that matter, was different. Wouldn't mind seeing them just to see them and know that they are as well as they are.

I enjoyed my school reunion. It was hard not to drink during the first visit as I had to go back to work after checking in for the fist time.

We had 3 to 5 days of events so not all the people made it to all the events. I hit the picknick which had most of the family people and then I also hit the bar which had most of us singles. Skiped the golf turny and the formal dance.

I think it is cool to find out what everyone was doing.

I had a job interview the night before and had been taking time off work for interviews due to being grossly under employed at the time.

Two more years and I'll get to go to the 10 year.

The delema will be whether or not to take the wife.

ahhhh.. sorry but reunions are a joke.. I went to my 20th and everything was pretty good at first.. then it was just like we were back in the stone ages.. all the old clicks got back together.. all the old attitudes came back.. was a riot.. sooo.. I will prolly wait and go to the 40th if I am still around..

I think you hit the nail on the head. I think the 20 year and up reunions are good for all the right reasons.

I found the 10 year reunion to be a status check.

It's more fun to go to other people's class reunions and pretend that you were part of the class. Some of the people actually remember you and some of your antics! :-2 Now this is not something I normally do, crash parties, but my husband was deejaying a class reunion and it was for friends of mine so we decided to have some fun LOL.

I've been to my 5, 10, 15, 25, 30(1!) and have my 35th coming up

in a few short months. I have enjoyed them all. The powers that be

were a little late with our 30th, so we had our 31st just shortly after

9/11, and it was really wonderful to be with all those people who knew

you and cared about you... in the midst of so much that was awful in

the world. Maybe it's just my class, but we don't seem to have a lot

of the braggarts, just a lot of really nice people.



One of our classmates is an airline pilot, and we all sat around and

had a pretty in-depth discussion of what life was like for him, and his

(high school sweetheart!!) wife and kids who worried about him.



We had a lot of laughs, too. And that felt really good.

Well I enjoy good jokes and good reunions:)

Had total fun at the class reunion even if I was grossly underemployed:)

The wife can be overly critical so I'm thinking of just going on my own.
