Ill start.
Pumpernikel toast
Raisin bread toast
Slathered w/ peanut butter or sweet creamy butter.
Ok now its your turn.

You cant compare an English muffin to pancakes...no way.

Toast :
bread browned with heat: sliced bread that has been browned on both sides with heat, in a toaster, under a grill, or in front of an open fire.
I would agree with that definition, forget your Muffins etc, Toast is toast.
Even these varieties of fruity/ exotic breads is pushing it.
For the purist, thickly sliced crusty white bread, toasted quickly over a wood fire until a deep a tan, except for the sticky out bits that should singe til darkest brown.
Spread thickly with fresh butter.
Eat immediately

Frequently I find myself without a wood fire burning when the toast bug rears its ugly head.
