Ever said something you later wish you hadn't?

I was watching a vid on youtube a good few months ago which was about Americans being able to claim their money back from their federal government which prompted me into doing a bit of research to see if there was any money I could claim back from the British government and I found this ad claiming that you could claim back bank charges. My bank has never charged me much, but I thought I may as well let people know about it. So I left the comment on the youtube vid, and within the week there were reports on the news that banks were panicking because of all the charges being filed against them and although it could have just been lucky timing I still thought to myself did I do this? Could I have started a national incident with just one little comment?

You could, but why would you wish you hadn't?

Because once the commotion started to die down my bank started charging me for things that were previously free.

You feel that the consequence of your bank noticing the avalanche of protest at inflated charges on penalties was their bringing those down to cost and charging for other processes which had previously been discounted, their cost being covered by the fat generated from penalties? The actual steps involved may have been exactly as you describe but it remains a question whether a reasonable person could have anticipated the turn of events. I think there are so many steps that your actions were unblameworthy but, on the grounds that my judgement's potentially fallible, let's play safe - I absolve you, go your way and sin no more.

The real point of this thread is trying to explain to you is that if that one seemingly inocuous little comment can do all that is it any wonder that I try not to say anything to anyone even though I know that if I hadn't left the comment it would've most likely happenned anyway just a little later.
