I think I am, but after more than a few posts. In RL I'm very good after just a couple of minutes.

I definitely form a opinion, but as for really knowing the person or being a accurate judge of their character, no.

I think it is very easy to con some one and to portray yourself to be some one you are not. Some posters are very open and honest with sharing their feelings in a forum, they are the easy ones to read. Others are more private and less open, and perhaps even devious, they are harder to read.

I honestly believe that after years of reading posts, threads, chatting through emails and pm's and phone calls, I do know the character of quite a few FG members....



I trust many, many members here and know that I will meet them in real life one day:-6

What they post? Some yes. but some no. Some are using their alter ego here. some just like to see how many eye brows they can raise. but the ones that are very nice. it shines through in their writings.

I am pretty positive I am a really good judge of people on here.

not all, but some.

People change all of the time. Our outlooks change as we experience life, and so the way we present ourselves changes also. If you have ever had the experience of discovering that you are LIVING with a stranger, or are married to one... you will find it easy to understand how you could misread someone on a forum. Overall I think that members at a place like this must have a general faith in human nature, or they wouldnt have the enthusiasm to participate. It has been my good fortune to only come in contact with very nice people here, and I feel I can read long time members very well.

You can be a good judge of character but everyone goes out of character from time to time.

I dont lie in wait for people to disappoint but I realize they will.

wow some really good posts on here:) i once started a thread after i had been here for a while asking what people thought of me, what opinion had they formed, i was just interested to know what kind of an impression i gave out. But it turned into a big love fest:rolleyes: :wah:people thought i was looking for approval i think and to know people liked me

I have formed opinions of people on here, and have gotten to know their character a bit as well, as in how far i can take a joke etc. but its hard to really know a person,, sometimes even in real life too

To answer your question, "No, you can't know a person by reading a few posts on a forum." I can only speak about myself. If you were to read all of my posts, you would know me pretty well.
