They have no cares or concerns in what this can do to the environment, garbage carries germs which leads to diseases.....and smart-ass knows don't give a flying ****!
Every day on my front lawn, I am forever picking up someone's filthy contaminated garbage, because they are to damn lazy to bring it home with them!
One day I had noticed across the street, something red was hanging down from a string from a tree.....went over with our pickup truck, Mike stood on the bed of it, .........only to find it was red cardinal wrapped in string! We helped to untangle the bird, it flew away.....had no idea if it lived or not.
Tis the same when jerks leave their 6 pack plastic beer rings in the rivers, fish get tangled and die.....tins of pop etc.
WTF is with society today?

ahhhhh Odie:-6
I'm thinking the same thing.....came home to my beautiful, little beach house only to pick up.....50 ciggys butts, 10 beer cans, and tons of plastic..... Really ticks me off...why do I have to clean all the ciggy butts around my house....I usually collect 100 per week....:-5

I had also reported one to the camp ranger, for they know who last used the site.................apparently they are no longer welcome there.
It as at Algonguin Park, the largest in Ontario and you can see all the signs of the do's and don'ts on the way in and also handed phamplets about the seriousness of keeping all foods, including gum hung high up so the bears do not come into the campsites.......................this campsite had tons of wrappers from chocolate bars............beer bottles of course, food splattered everywhere............looked like that had a bomb of a nite fire before they left drunk!

I'm having a hard time understanding the concept that littering's bad for the environment...
Don't get me wrong I can't stand people who litter but it's not as if it's not going to just be hauled to a landfill and get buried either...
Even if all of it were recycled properly the elements within recycled material are still present within the Earth...It's not as if we launch trash into outer space...
I can see how we can limit trash by recycling but I'd place the blame on people willing to distribute it more than anything else...Why grocery stores cannot be fined for using plastic is beyond me...
Perhaps a piece of legislation not high on the list...You'd think with governments as large as the ones today we'd be able to solve simple problems such as this...
No plastic -- Simple...Maybe I give too much credit to the government......I don't know...

The concept of just "cleaning up after yourself" seems to be beyond some folks. At work, there is an outdoor patio with benches and tables and trash cans. I am appalled at the trash that is let on the tables after lunch time. In the restrooms, the trash that is left on the floors...and there are trash cans in there as well. I have often thought about putting a sign on the trash can that says, "Feed Me."
What happened to that slogan, "Keep America Beautiful" and that commercial with the Native-American crying as he looks upon the litter ridden highway?
I agree that this a problem. But to alot of folks concerning their trash......"Out of sight......out of mind." Atleast.........out of THEIR sight.

I agree, it is a real problem.
I live in a beautiful seaside town and every Saturday & Sunday morning areas of the beach are littered with beer cans from the night before.
What I find even worse is the amount of dog sh1t there is everywhere. I can’t stand it taking my kids for a nice walk and having to constantly say ‘watch your step, more dog sh1t’.

When my son was smaller, and we camped in Canada(I love that country)We would doan on gloves and make a game whoever picked up the most trash at the campsite in 5 minutes won a prize, at first glance it looks spotless, but when you really look, you find small stuff that adds up, saving the earth one campsite at a time~~:-6:-6:-6

You appear to be describing what has been taught for the last twenty years in the State Schools.....
Somebody else will take care of you and your things. You are a victim of the system so you are not responsible for your own actions and they do not have consequences. Society owes you everything you need, and most of what you want. You should only be told "no" when it is absolutely necessary to protect you from yourself as we know what is better for you than you do.

What's thrown on your front lawn or left in campsites are only a fraction of the problem.
Even if Garbage goes to the dump it infiltrates the earth and our groundwater.
Plastics are accumilating in the Oceans. They effect every creatures Hormonal functions. Specifically males.
In the ocean it effects the whole food chain because the creatures don't seperate garbage from what they feed on.
Ever wonder where all those cruise ships, fishing trawlers, any Ocean traffic, dump their garbage? Think they PAY to unload when they reach shore?

What was taught in our schools was "Give a Hoot Don't Pollute". Woodsy Owl who was created in 1970.
Campaigns to curb littering have been common up to the 90's.
You seem to blame youth or people in general when it's the corporations and governments who are just as, if not more, responsible. We just respond to what were exposed to.
The people who believe society OWES them everything are pretty small in number. They are the poorest and the richest. How do people get rich? Everyone OWES them something ( or they leverage their wealth through the banks), or they harness labourers en mass?

Society owes me nothing, but out of respect for one's property littering disgusts me as its everywhere now and it never used to be that way and I have to pick up after the ****ing lazy ones litter than has gunk and crap on it, because they don't give a hoot!
I know damn well its the young generation, they never have given a crap about this earth and never will, they think they are above everyone else and can do what they want when they want.
I was raised totally differently than kids/teens now a days, to have respect for others and never ever litter.
There's a place for everything, plastics, garbage and recyclables, how much more simpler can it be?
But that's okay you macho ******* wanna bees, I'll pick up your damn litter!

Well that's like saying all men are jerks and selfish because of the few who treated me like garbage!:yh_rotfl
A few idiots shouldn't ruin it for a whole generation. My son is part of that generation and he's a pretty decent respectful human being.
But I raised him!:yh_angel
I used to live near the reserve, on the road that led right to it. "Them" indians would throw garbage in the ditch along our house. Fast food bags, wrappers, beer cans, plastic bottles....
It didn't make me paint them all with the same brush. It's a few inconsiderate idiots who weren't raised right, taught right or are just pissed at the world and don't care anymore.
