Time could be running out for the estimated 35,000 stray cows choking the roads and marketplaces of India's capital.

Lounging on roads and snuffling through rubbish heaps, the cow is as much a part of the Delhi scene as the auto-rickshaw and the cha-wallah (teaboy. Delhi's High Court has issued a notice ordering authorities to take 'immediate steps' against the sacred animals.

Not really stray, the cows belong to illicit dairies whose powerful owners don't feed them.

Shame on these people that can leave their animals sacred or not, to scavenge to survive

Terrible, my cows would trample you with-out food. I go to a bakery for all of the leftovers to feed my moo-moo's. Cows are large animals who eat alot. Here, they just see me from a distance and run to me.
