Yeah, and I heard that when it reaches the Gulf, it might get to Cat 3 status...not good. I'm worried about Southern Yankee, she's right down there.

My question is are they going to be able to evacuate all those people in 72 hours? Just seems like it's cutting it to close to the wire.

I hope she leaves..and stays safe..i just watched a documentary on the levees there a few days ago..this isnt good.i was in Venice two years ago..its still looks like an abandoned city in parts of New Orleans that we drove through. Whole neighborhoods are still abandoned..and stores and stuff..yikes..
and now we have Hannah to watch out for too..Starting sunday the east coast along Florida and Georgia is going to have unusually high tides and bad rip tides..wonder where this storm will go?

gas prices shot up ten cents a gallon here today as soon as they announced the course of Gustov..:-5
because of all the oil rigs and refinerys in the area around New Orleans.

I myself can really understand what it must be like to all of a sudden evaculate your home, taking your kids, pets, a few belongings................just the mental part of it has to take a huge toll, easy for us to save evaculate, but its not our homes.

I had to evacuate my family and the rest of a town to high ground once. You are right, it isn't easy but it's the logical thing to do when faced with the options.

She is in Butte La Rose, I'm not sure how close that is to New orleans, but I haven't heard from her for a couple days...she's probably getting ready for it. I should look it up.

saw the news this morn. Evacuating as we speak.
I couldn't imagine the trauma/stress again....

How far north of the coast are you ?
Is flooding an issue where you are ?
Probably an afternoon shower could turn into an issue its so low there.
Got the right insurance ?
