He is Scottish, he is a man, he is leader of the Labour Party. He is not very good at being Prime Minister, or at least he doesn't give off the right media impression that he is good at being prime minister. He is likely to not be Prime Minister by this time next year I would think.

Probably going to lose his seat at the next election. He and tony Blair have probably ended the labour party as a viable political party for some years to come having thoroughly pissed off their hard core support in scotland and probably the rest of the country. Don't think David Cameron will be any better I am now depressed and am thinking of joining the raving monster loony party in protest. Mind you i could vote SNP but I worry England couldn't cope without us inventing things and subsidising them.
Reckon if Tony hadn't left there would have been riots on the street by now, smarmy git. Actually I detest the bugger and have lost any respect for the whole lot of them. OK there wasn't a lot in the first place. But if he had any integrity he would have stood for election as party leader.

I live in a die-hard labour constituency as well the number of people that bring up in conversation how pissed off they are is startling. The labour party seem quite oblivious as to what is wrong. In Scotland Proportional representation has made quite a difference. I would like to see it UK wide , might wake up the tories as well. Neither party has ever had an overwhelming majority of the votes effectively 2/3rds of the electorate are disenfranchised. If labour lose scotland they will not be able to form a government and if the tories get in with a majority I think you'll see the SNP making massive strides. I'm still not convinced I trust them either.
Actually I fell out with our local labour MP, during the election he came up the drive and left leaflets but left the gate open on the way out. The pup escaped as a consequence and I'm afraid I was rather forceful in expressing my opinion of inconsiderate people without the common courtesy to shut gates that they opened.

I agree with everyone's comments listed above but in all honesty, when it comes to elections there are 2 choices - Tory or Labour. None of the other parties get enough votes to come anywhere near close to these two. I think anyone who remembers the Thatcher era sees David Cameron as Son of Sam .... I mean Evil Son of Thatcher. He's a Toff, he doesn't know how poor people live and struggle, his policies would purely benefit the huntin', shootin', fishin' brigade. Same as Maggie's. It's not a great choice but I'd rather have a Scot (especially as Scots are renowned for taking care of the pennies!) than a stuck-up Thatcherite Toff! :p

You have to put your vote to best use. If everyone opted out of the 'Big 3' and voted en masse for another party then yes, that would be a good choice. But all you're doing by voting for the BNP is stopping them from losing their deposit.

I don't agree. Personally I liked Blair and although I felt his policies slipped towards the end, I felt a huge relief at his initial landslide victory because he had a lot of policies that affected me and were vast improvements on what had gone before. For instance, more nursery places for children.
However, whilst Gordon Brown has carried on "improving" education, all he has actually done is to bring in lots of new policies which all seem to clash, which don't honestly work and which create tons more paperwork for teachers instead of letting them just teach! (Personally I wish someone like Richard Branson would start a brand new Common-Sense Party and initiate some Common-Sense policies. So, for instance, new educational improvements could be worked out by teachers who had taught for over 20 years and who actually understood the way schools work and how the policies affect them.)
Having said that, I'm pleased to see that GB is now planning to limit immigration passes to those who can actually benefit our country! Australia has been doing this for years! To work there you need to have an occupation which they have need of, eg., teaching. Hopefully this will limit the influx of eastern Europeans into the UK.
Going back to your point gmc, I don't think the Tories will get in. I think GB will hang on by the skin of his teeth. I understand a lot of youngsters , who dont remember the Thatcher years, are all planning to vote Tory believing they have a lot to offer, but I still think too many people remember the Thatcherite government and how they helped cause the current housing crisis and also the NHS crisis and they can see that David Cameron belongs to the same school of thought as Maggie and that things would only become worse under his leadership. That's my opinion anyway, but you're welcome to prove me wrong, I'm no politician. :p

Scotland has 59 seats labour need them to keep power in Westminster. They will i think lose big time in scotland if only because they make the mistake of taking their support for granted.
