Maybe we need an "in honor of" category here or maybe I am blind.

But here goes my thoughts

Yesterday all throughout this 1 million plus populated city all our flags flew at half mast in honor of Canadian Pte Chad Horn. No I did not know this young man at all but here is my link to him:

He is a Calgarian, he is 21, he spent the same number of years in school as my oldest daughter, he graduated from the same high school as I did. The links end there.

But I feel somehow attatched to him for these commonalities.

I feel a deep sorrow for the fact that Canada has lost it's 97th Soldier a young budding adult who only lived for 21 years, most of those years as a child. A young man who never got to experience marriage, parenthood, or grandfatherhood or many other stages of life that many of us celebrate because our soldiers fight for what we have today.

Mister Chad Horn I salute you for what you have done in honor of this country.

May we all find some kind of special place in our hearts all over the world for our soldiers who fight for us and our countries.

May Peace be in your heart in life and in death.

Hear hear Minks

I shed a tear or two on the school run this morning, there was a big white sheet on the roadside welcoming a lad home from Afghan, one local lad that made it this time....

The newspaper showed "Babies" Mourning "Babies". The loss of our young soldiers seems so much tougher to take than the loss of some of the older soldiers. However a soldier is a soldier and bless them all.

Thanks Ladies :) These could be our children one day too. I also salute the parents of soldiers.
