Thank you, buddy. We did just that. :) Just got home a few minutes ago. Hubby and I went to a family Easter dinner held outside at a park. Afterwards, we just rode around the country roads. Warm, sunny day here.

Since Hubby and I were good this year, the Easter Bunny left us a basket filled with goodies on our kitchen table. ;):wah:

This afternoon, I had to drive home from work in some heavy rain. With thunder and lightening. Splashes from other vehicles. Big splashes from trucks. Had to watch for puddles on the road................don't like to skid or hydroplane. No.........not me.

How do you feel about driving in the driving rain?

Another funeral service for us today. One of Hubby's sisters died quite suddenly from complications due to diabetes. She was the same age as I am.

Her death is a cautionary tale for folks on diabetes. Take your insulin in the correct dosage and watch your diet. Take care of yourself. You do deserve it.

This sister was a sweet person, humble and self-effacing. She was not perfect, but who among us is? She had experienced tragedy and diappointments in her life and seemed to have dealt with all of them as best she could.

Hubby remembers when he was a young teen-ager, she was only this sister who would follow her big brother around and show an interest in his activities.

I will always remember her voice ,soft and clear and the concise way she pronounced her words. And her lovely smile.

A female cardinal just appeared on the tree outside my window as I just glanced over my computer moniter. She was there just for a moment, looked at me, then flew away. Thank you, little bird, for the moment of joy.

From another thread of mine which is quickly disappearing into oblivion. :wah:

I have been reading the "Odd Thomas" series of books by Dean Koontz. I would recommend the books. I like the main character. He does have certain "powers" but he is very human, self-effacing and kind.

I usually don't quote passages from the books I read, but I thought this noteworthy. The words just say how I feel sometimes. They spoke to me, and may speak to you as well.

This is a narrative by the hero of the book:

"When I am battered and oppressed by the world that humanity has made---which is different from the world that it was given--my primary defence, my consolation, is the absurdity of that world.

The given world dazzles with wonder, poetry, and purpose. The man-made world, on the other hand, is a perverse realm of ego and envy, where power-mad cynics make false idols of themselves and where the meek have no inheritance because they have gladly surrendered it to their idols in return for not lasting glory but for an occasional parade, not for bread but for the promise of bread.

A species that can blind itself to truth, that can plunge so enthusiastically along roads that lead to nowhere but to tragedy, is sometimes amusing in its recklessness, as amusing as the great movie comedians like Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy, and the many otheres who knew that a foot stuck in a bucket is funnier, and that trying stubbornly to move a grand piano up a set of stairs obviously too steep and narrow to allow success is the hilarious distillation of the human experience.

I laugh with humanity, not at it, because I am as big a fool as anyone, and bigger than most. "

Two Accomplishments yesterday....

When I have a problem, I am proud of myself when I can fix it:

Digital camera..........put in new batteries, but the screen is a purple haze. No LCD picture. So I found out that there is a problem with the CCD image sensors that Canon will fix for free for certain cameras. My camera is one of the ones that qualify. :) They will send me a shipping label, and pay for repair and shipping. I sent them an e-mail yesterday and they have responded. So far so good.

Digital Photo Frame................I could not upload through my USB port any more pictures or music from my computer. "Directory not found"I found out I needed to format the USB from FAT to FAT 32. I did just that, and now I can add more photos and music. Before I formatted, I moved all my photos back to the computer temporarily. After I formatted, I made folders in my USB port like, "Vacation" and Grandkids" and moved my photos back into the corresponding folder.

I admit that I got help I needed from the internet. I just kept searching til I found the information and the help I needed to solve my problem.

Has the internet ever helped you solve a problem?

Speaking of "Purple Haze", are you experienced?

Hey, Odie! :)

This morning, I was looking up this word:

Serendipity

Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely

This video was on the top of the page. This James Dean moment was not in the movie, "East of Eden." This must have been a screen test. Go to the top of the page---3rd clip from the left and click on it.
