They do diff stuff. We go to several a year. :D I was asked to make Halloween Cupcakes for the class again this year.. i will probably just join the party. I already have the day off. What are your plans?

I will be staying home and watching the hallowe'en specials that they run all week, eating red candied apples, carving a pumpkin and roasting seeds. I will do a candle ritual as well. Next year I may dress up and go somewhere but this year it's just going to be a comfy at-home thing.

I'll dress up for our work party. No clue what I'm going to go as.

We don't get any trick or treaters here. It's too dark and on a dirt lane. They want to go where the houses are close together and they can get more candy. I may take our grandson out if it's at a different time from where he lives.

It never really was a UK celebration but it seems to have caught on now and some people see it as quite menacing.

Its sad but some kids (even teenagers) in the UK use Halloween as an excuse to vandalise peoples property and scare the living daylights out of elderly people.

My brother died that night and the following year my mother heard the doorbell and was going to answer but my SIL said she would go instead, lucky thing too she opened the door to a nieghbours child dressed as the grim reaper! The shock made my SIL cry but god knows what would have happened if my mum had opened the door to that sight.

Here in Holland they don't celebrate Halloween but on Nov 11 they have St Martin and all the kids carry (traditionally) home made lanterns door to door singing for treats. That is a lovely sight all the children walking through the dark streets with their lanterns glowing its a nice cosy winter feeling.

You might try the History Channel too if you get that one. They have a lot of good ghost programs on. I wish they'd stop showing the Winchester Mystery House because they put that in every single show.

I know. We do watch that channel and Travel Channel too. Scifi even has some now and then. I am kinda tired of the Winchester Mystery.

I will for sure. But I will do it on my profile. Not on the main board. =)

Halloween is SO fun- We have fun decorating the house, trick or treating and my husband scares people as they come up to our house. It's SO funny.

I get dressed up and go out with Quin, Faith and Faith's parent's. We hit every street and get loads of candy.

Best place to get costumes is your neighborhood thrift store. One year I went out as Austin Power's and won first prize at a party. My friend was a Titantic survivor and won 2nd prize.

My one daughter is going up to a college party and the other two go with friends. Poor hubs stays home and does candy duty.:wah:

Do you not dress as scary people for halloween? Over here we all tend to dress in 'horror' outfits.

I have one for Jenna it is a Red Devil dress, I will post pics after.;)

Sam has been someone from 'Scream' for the last 3 years, despite me buying different outfits he just sticks to his old one

I don't need to dress up, I'm scary enough as it is :D

I am dreading Alfie barking with everyone knocking at the door, he goes mad when anyone taps on the knocker :-5

The kids are older now and go around in a big group, i have been banned from going anywhere near them :(

I like seeing the kids dressed up, about 2 years ago I done the house up but some little 5hits stole my decorations from outside and they are still quite expensive here, not sure if I will decorate  depends on if I can bolt it to the wall:sneaky:

I am not very good watching horror movies, I enjoy them but I have nightmares for weeks after which means Jim gets no sleep too so I think any scary films are out :o

the pics are posted. if i set it up right only people on my contacts can see the pics.

Ok you know those baby gate playpen things. -Looks like i pic i attached-

You can stretch them out instead of being in a circle. well we stretch it from the couch to the wall every year and we just sit on the other side of it on a bean bag or chair. the dogs can't get to the door and they don't bark because they see what is going on. lol Now they do growl if a monster comes to the door. lmao

That's a really good idea. I wish more people would do something like that instead of letting their dogs and cats slip out the door. Too many crazies out there for that. Good idea.

So who has special pumpkin seed recipes? Mine are just basic, the only diff is me using butter one year and olive oil the next. I know you can season them to your liking but I never have. But I'm open to new ideas!

we haven't had hardly any trick or treaters since the attacks on 9/11, everybody just kinda quit, i guess they were afraid, i take Jacob to a few places just family mostly! he was a cowboy last year.

the last 2 costume parties we went to, the first one i wore a 50's costume you know with the poodle skirt and everything, and the last one was Jacobs first halloween, we all went as pirates, i found a little baby pirate costume, it was so cute, my husband went as Jack Sparrow he won best costume , i found a girls pirate costume too so we were a family of pirates! :wah:

yeah i don't let my dogs near the door. I get nervous with them being so close to running away. I swear I'd lose my mind. Saydee (the basset) will stay in the yard but the other 2 don't know any better. lol. They are happy behind the gate thingy because they can see what is going on and they can people watch. they love it. :)

yours and mine are the best:

wash off pumpkin seeds, place on tray, cover with butter and salt..........roast under broiler until brown and crisp!

mmmmmmmm! sooooooo good!

Well, I'm going to have to try Butterfly's garlic and chili powder. That means degunking another pumpkin! There are never enough seeds! More seedage please!! :wah:

How about candied apples and popcorn balls? Does anyone still make popcorn balls anymore? I make red and green ones for Christmas.
