We had an outbreak of Lysteria from tainted meat from Canada Packers Maple Leaf meats, just here where I live, to many have died.......there have been tons of warnings of what meats not to eat.............to many recalls.
and another person dies..............no excuse for not having proper
supervision and quality control....by the time everyone is done sueing them, our one leader of Canadian meats will be in huge debt......serves them right!
It has been a scare and a half for us!
1 Sep 2008 ... Public health officials confirmed Monday at a news conference that the latest death from the listeria outbreak occurred in Ontario. ...

Everything happens in Toronto because Toronto's a big place. We get Listeria and Salmonella shop-borne outbreaks in the UK too, and 20 people dying's by no means unusual here when it happens. We get that gut-bleeding version of E coli as well, odd moments of botulism, all of it added together doesn't come to a hundredth of a normal winter's deaths from hypothermia and we don't even get snow any more.
Look on the bright side - SARS went away.

I had heard about that, it is very sad for those who died and all those who have been sick.
It is a shame in many ways, Maple Leaf foods are a real historical Canadian business and there is no way they would intend on hurting people. As much as they should be held accountable for there poor quality controls, I hope that it doesn’t get so out of hand that they end up closing up, laying off all their staff and a good Canadian company go out of business.

That is terrible. Odie. Good intentions of a particular company are not enough for the folks who do get sick.
This thread reminds of all those babies in China getting sick from contaminated milk. There is no excuse for that.

Oh, that is sad. I'm glad they traced it to the source, but that does nothing for the poor families.....
