Friends Family Partners, Everone has to choose one or the other at some point in

life even if its an argument over a television remote or choosing which one to believe

in a more serious case.

But the real question is Which one is always the high priority?

Well FAMILY, would seem to the most logical answer but not to everyone.

Also has a past decision been a wrong one? or made a BIG impact on your life?

Well why not share it.

If you have been in the situation where you have had to choose why not vote for

which one you would choose as priority i will submit a POLL for you all to vote on ALSO

if you have a story you would like to share.. well share it :)

I suppose I am one of the lucky ones. I love my family and would put them first in any situation:-4

If it's TV remote or anything at all to do with hospitality then the answer has to be Guest.

If it's deciding guilt or innocence it has to be on the basis of past experience, I'd probably give the benefit of the doubt to a monk, for example, even though he was a stranger - your question seems to focus most easily on types of person. I'd sooner believe a family member that lied on occasion than a police officer for the same reason. Monks tend not to lie, police officers can't even perform their job unless they do. One's trained not to, the other's trained how.

Aren't cultural differences odd. That was definitely not the way I was brought up.

I used to think friends because i went to them when my family was being dumb... but i learned Family first... they stick it through with you as much as you do with them... so family...

Spot seemed to bring up alot of good points.

Im impressed BUT,

Monks... and Guests.

I figured someone would bring up a point like this but to all honesty

its like pointing out Nuns and Preschool teachers you wouldnt expect them

to lie.. but everyone can lie its not impossoble, Even though it would be

completely unorthadox for a Monk to lie.

But i havent yet met one.

My question aims at a more direct group of people.

My personal preference would go

1- Family

2- Friends

3- Partners

But everyone is different.

Thanks for your posts im looking forward to seeing more.

The essence of hospitality is that the very last scone can't possibly go to family. Civilizations can crumble to dust but the last scone's always got to be the guest's.

There's never ALWAYS a priority Choice for me.

I've made several decisions, they haven't been wrong for me.

Spot,

Your not wrong but what if in this case the scone was determining 2 lives?

Would the guest be the priority?

The thread can be questioned definately i mean

- Hospitality to Superiority

- Status to Relationship

I mean these can be put in to question and many more.

heres a question just for you of the 3 categories above.. what do you consider

a guest or monk?

Would the guest be the priority?Well, actually, yes. That's the point. Obviously one strives to save everyone but the stranger gets priority if you've accepted him under your wing. It all comes down to a matter of honour.

I don't have any particular regard for monks, I merely introduced them as a class of person one can automatically expect to be truthful, just as I introduced police officers as a class of person one can automatically expect to be liars. The test you asked for asked whom to believe. I wouldn't regard either a monk or a police officer as a more or less worthy guest.

I'd choose family over everyone else but I mean *my* family-the one I made, not the one I was born into.
