We tried a while ago to post only words which ended in INTH. It was all too brief.

This was followed by INCH. It was an overnight success!

A third outing, of words ending in ONCH, brought out intense rivalry!




This thread's a slight variant in that it seeks a one-sentence biography of anyone whose name ends in "onck". Each person unearthed wins a point for its poster. The person may be dead or the biography must be extremely accurate and polite, let's avoid law-suits.

Anyone actually unearthing a genuine word ending in "onck" scores five bonus points.

Once a name or word has been offered in the thread it may not be offered again. Relatives and employees of the game's management may not enter. The competition is governed by English Law and all disputes will be referred to the House of Lords for adjudication. The winner of this competition will be entered in the annual ForumGarden Competition Winners' Knock-out Photo Contest.

You really haven't grasped this one at all have you. We're looking for such luminaries as Jacob van Hulsdonck who spent an entire lifetime on the lower slopes of fine art, working up from "Fruit and Flowers", "Lemons" "A Basket of Grapes and Other Fruit", "Breakfast-piece" to his final relative triumph "Strawberries In A Bowl". His works command high auction prices because he died in 1647.
