My husbands 25th class reunion is coming up in November!

it's been so long since i had an excuse to buy an evening gown. Whats the popular styles now and the popular colors this year?

what kind of gown is appropriate for cold weather? what kind of shoes do you wear this time of year?

i'm just full of questions! :wah:

any help or advice would be great! :-6

Don't panic. Get a style that suits you and you feel good in. Go to a store you like and trust. I think you'll know the gown when you see it, it'll just say jump out at you. Ref the weather well, you can get warm inside, so you just just need a warm coat for getting in the car to go home, and maybe a shrug or shoulder covering of some sort. Colour ways, well what colour suits you, it doesn't matter what colours are in? I cannot wear red, but it's 'in'. There's nothing that speaks more of confidence and comfort in an outfit if a person has chosen the colour and style they suit. Enjoy. What about shoes and a bag and jewellery. Oh dear.

I wouldn't follow any particular style or trend Hope, I'd concentrate on your body shape and what best suits that.... Go for colours that flatter your own skin colouring....

and as for worrying about the weather, there are some beautiful wraps everywhere at the moment Hope as they are very fashionable right now, also shrugs, which is like a tiny cardigan that just covers your arms.....

Above all else, make sure that whatever you decide to wear is comfortable... and have a wonderful time! :-6

You know you can never go wrong with black, its classic and timeless. A cocktail dress would be suitable for the occassion, depending on the venue and your weather; that will be the main decesion on your shoes, but a closed toe black pump always works in cooler temps.

Even if its a formal affair traditional evening gowns aren't worn anymore. If it is evening gown required the new gowns are very different today they can be short, mid calf, or long. They are sleek some shine and elegant nothing fluffy at all. You will have to have a wrap for your shoulders if its winter. ;)

They have beautiful fall colors in most big departments stores and I'm not talking Walmart here. Look online at Macys, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, etc. with shoes, bags, etc. to match. Whatever you do...don't wear the one in your avatar as it's probably stinky by now:wah:

E bay is fab for evening gowns.

I always go for black, so re-usable.

Accessorie's as well, a nice bit of bling (Costume jewellry).

I like Carla's gowns, that's my kind of thing.

make sure it's comfy. I hate spending all night fiddling with straps and tight waist bands. Oh and some-thing you can get to the ladie's quickly in, that helps :wah:

Don't wear Black (unless your over weight).

Everyone will be wearing Black..

I went with my Sister to her 25th class reunion - I told my Sister can't wear Black.

99% of Females were wearing Black..

We were so happy that we didn't wear Black...

Depending on what your comfortable wearing - I'd wear short to mid-length.

Also Depends where the reunion is being held..?

Country Club - or school auditorium?

I had to go to a ball in London....I saw the Four Tops there as well.

I got this beautiful white floor length very simple straight gown. It had daimantee round the waist. I got it brand new on e bay. It came all the way fron China for £8.99 plus postage. I was so impressed, i bought another one from the same place.

And it was machine washable HURRAH :wah:

November Reunion

Pick a Fall color - you could still wear a strappy evening shoe.

wear something very comfortable to make you very confident. no fuss apparel..

I wouldn't wear Black or anything close to Black - everyone will be wearing Black.

Stand out - Look as beautiful as you are..

Just remember Hope, buy something that you feel comfortable in. I would also suggest that you keep in mind when shopping to look for something that you could wear for other occasions too; that way you get your $$$ worth and it won't just hang in your closet never to be seen again.

If the weather is going to be a real issue, there are lots of trendy pants suits out there. With the right suit and accessories it can look just as stunning as a dress.
