On another thread I asked what daily news sources people utilize and the responses were not too surprising. I was not surprised for example that Spot and Globally follow the dailies that they do, it's reflected in the quality of their posts.
This is something that I would like to pursue in a little more depth because I am curious as to how some make voting decisions or just plain have the opinions they do. Someone mentioned the TV Show Good Morning America and I wonder how influential that show is in forming your opinions. Does the Oprah Winfrey show influence your thinking?
How about the huge amount of Political Email we get, supposedly giving us the genuine lowdown on a particular candidate. Are you influenced by these either right or left blogs that seek to give us the real story?
I realize that not everyone is a news junkie and could care less about politics or the economy, but from a sheer survival standpoint, I would hope that those formerly uninterested come around a bit. It's essential.

I don't get influenced over these shows whatsoever, I watch my local news twice a day, which also starts with news from around the world first.
I also buy and read our Toronto Sun.
seldom go on line to read the news.
and I hate watching CNN!

Until i had to have some time off with builders in, i had very little time to source the news. I buy several papers and scan topics of interest. I watch Sky news late at night as well.
I also did not have the time to google.
I always read "The Daily Mail" front to back including the sport.
I don't like celeb news as it annoys me.
Since i have been off work, i have spent much time googling (With wax ear plugs in to drown out banging and drilling), and it's fascinating how quickly you can find links.
I have to admit that i am biased and always go for the papers reporting on Gordon Brown.
If i have time, i also watch Prime Ministers Question Time live on t.v. and i like to watch Sky for American news on the election.
I googled the Irish Times Newspaper recently for the first time and after i had translated it, some of it was quite Interesting.

I don't watch Oprah and I don't get political e-mails. I just watch the news on TV, and go to MSN's and Chicago and Atlanta news website. I also read posts here on the forum to get other perspectives.

there's a happy medium. I don't read papers or watch hours of news, I don't see the point. I don't care about all the fluff/filler that fill their pages or time slots.
And yet I still consider myself well informed. When something interests me then I go find out more about it. I prefer to find out things by myself rather than read/watch other people's opinions and leave it at that. :-6

I watch the local NEWS in the morning before going to work. At work I read the Union Tribune paper and the Wall Street Journal. Since my work requires me to sit at a PC's at least three quarters of the day I see most of the major sites MSN, Google, Yahoo, Aol news while working at PC's. That's more news and info than I want to know most days. As a general rule I don't talk politics or religion the conversations almost always get ugly. I just keep my take on this to myself. I have learned no one really wants to know your opinion, they just want to argue theirs.
