are you able to grasp the concept of infinity ?

Post by Nomad »

[moderator note: Look, we moderators have as big a sense of humour as anyone but seriously it's not funny. ForumGarden wants its members to have access both from home and from the workplace. ForumGarden wants revenue from advertisers. Both are jeopardised by thread titles saying Penises & Vaginas. Workplaces have internet filter software and automated blocking, advertisers explicitly limit the sites they'll appear on based on content like this. PLEASE stop with aren't-we-clever thread titles like this, I know it's a merry jape but it leaves a bad taste]

Do you spend any amount of time wondering about the ether, are you able to grasp the concept of infinity ?

Everything we trust is defined by a beginning and an ending. Everything.

Our lives, the equator starts somewhere and ends at the point of beginning, we define the hours weeks months and years by precise measurements and movements of time.

When you think about the galaxies and beyond or ponder the notion that the world has always been and will always be or if you subscribe to the Big Bang theory how do you rationalize the before of that event and how do you rationalize the foreverness of space ?

Have any of you satisfied this quandary by coming to conclusions and you no longer feel the need to explore this any further ?

Or do you willingly accept it as the unknown and are content to lay it to rest ?

Nomad, what's wrong now? Have you been contemplating the reality of the void again? What have I told you about that?

I've resolved never to stubb my toe again. In one place where I lived, I used to keep one of my toolboxes in the hallway just beside the kitchen door.

I kicked my little toe against that toolbox three times. The third time, I broke the toe.

To me, the message was simple - remember there's a ****ing toolbox harder than your little toe next to the door in the hallway.:wah:

OK, I try to stay in my own reality and so I open this thread thinking Nomad is going to show pictures of either his penis or vagina . :wah:

But, noooooo, I get this transcendental enlightenment "who are we and where do we come from" stuff. :-5

Crap, PICTURES Nomie, PICTURES!

It was all just a farce to make me look in here, wasn't it?:yh_eyebro

No one knows if there's an end to space or not so one cannot be divinely "rational" throughout any part of the human consciousness. What's left is basing "rational" off of the median observances of people society has deemed to be tolerable to the majority of those within such power and their preferences.

I don't spend much time thinking about it, but yes, I do believe I have a grasp of infinity...it helps that I am a Christian and believe in Heaven and Hell, but I won't go into it because I don't want to make non-believers uncomfortable or having them roll their eyes at me. :wah:
