I've been struggling with tension headaches for 12 days and one of my "feel better" techniques was to put on these fuzzy leopard ears from my daughter's Halloween costume. I'd cuddle up in the bed with two housecoats on and my leopard ears and wait for the headache to pass.
Now I can't stop.
As soon as I get home I want my leopard ears. I made my daughter another pair so I can have these ones for ever and ever.

This is a classic symptom of 'association'. Your headache went and now you have convinced yourself that it was the ears. The association has become a placebo and now you have a case of mind over matter.
I am not critising.... I do the same association with headaches but i use painkillers and that works for me.

I was painting a mural in this guy's house once and his houseboy used to wear a tiara all the time. He had his room painted purple, for royalty, with silver leaf trim.
I don't think my leopard fantasy is that bad.

my doctor once said to me, if it works for you, does it matter what it is if it helps?
he said if it is mind over matter, who cares, it worked.

If your serious about the headache portion of this..?
roll a towel up - to support the curve of your neck
or use your pillow rolled - as your pillow tries to unroll, it was create a tension/stretch. lay on either the pillow or towel for a short period of time
not all night.
you more than likely did something - as looking up or using one of your arms/shoulder for a long period of time.
support the curve of your neck, it'll give you relief.
relax the neck muscles & support your neck
and continue wearing your fuzzy ears if that makes you feel better..
Good Luck
Patsy
