My kids are approaching an age where Halloween is getting fun.

Do you all have any traditions that you do every year for Halloween?

Normally, I stay at home with all the lights out and watch horror movies all night long. This year, though, I'm going to a concert with friends.

I should be home soon enough to still watch a lot of movies.

We never give out candy. Not enough kids in the neighborhood for it to be worthwhile and the pup gets way too excited and scares the kids. :wah: Being scared on Halloween is one thing but to have a tail wagging, mouth slobbering, deep throated barking golden retriever trying to get through the door to you is another. All he really wants is kisses and the costumes scare him!

go figure:confused:

I know! It's horrible. we did that once when we grew into our teens, going house to house for a scavenger hunt. It was fun.:-6

I bobbed for apples once then dad wouldn't let me anymore. I had a younger cousin named Bob visiting us. I threw an apple in our stock watering tank, then threw Bob in.

Halloween traditions in my house are rigorous and followed to the letter. All mention of Halloween is completely forbidden. No child of mine has ever been allowed to dress up for it, acknowledge its existence, abuse the word Witch, leave the house that day after returning from school, turn on a television set, watch any DVD or even dance to Heavy Metal CDs in their rooms while wearing chiffon. Well, not the boys anyhow.

Ooooo.

I carve pumkins, watch The Great Pumnkin Charlie Brown and drink Wassel (sp). I dont know if its traditional wassel but I use oj, apple juice, cinnamon, and cloves and heat, then add some rum!

Halloween is my third favorite "holiday".

I grew up dressing up and hitting every door in town, which only took about 3 hours.

This year, we are going to a church fall bazaar with my neighbors. Supposed to be kid oriented. They will try to push church on me, but at least it's a safe environment.
