I go to another place sometimes and they have a way for people to follow a link that leads off site that is pass-worded. You have to get the password sent in a permission email from the original poster to view it.

I only say this because I know my younger sister can come on here and if a younger sister can then so can a younger brother. I don't think it’s a good idea to have access to pictures of naked women for just anyone to see. I don't really want to be surprised with it when I open a thread.

I support your opinion. I have two small children I wouldn't want to see it should it show up on the homepage or something.

For the record I would not at any time ever in the history of my existence refer to female breasts as "HOOTERS" nor do I believe I ever have to be quite honest...I couldn't think of anything more tacky and outlandishly piggish!!!!!!!...

And for the record as long as children get respectful insight as to what sex is supposed to represent I see no problem in allowing them to view other parts of the human body so long as it's not intended for pornographic reasons and to be quite honest(<------I've been being quite honest lately...:wah:) I believe the integrity, or lack there of, of any given situation shows or doesn't show through any given said situation...

If a nude portrait has been depicted as art, then it's just that, art.

I'm not an artistic person, so I cant comment on what is good or not. But having read the thread, it may be a better thing to only show those who would appreciate what you have done babe. By the way, I have seen the statue of David, and the paintings in the Sistene Chapel, and although I am no artist, I was amazed how complete Michelangelo (think thats how you spell it) captured the human form.

I'm amazed by the opinions about the human body on here, I was bought up in a prudish household that gave us all hang ups. I've got over that now as an adult and am working hard to make sure that my children don't end up with strange views of the human body and how if you see nakedness it is somehow wrong or crude.

I wouldn't have any objection to my children seeing this artwork at all.

I would also love to see the statue of David Meg, I bet it is beautiful, there we go another long term goal for me to set.

Stop the temper tantrum already, FB.

The difference being that David, et al, is a work of art.

I agree this is the most comfortable way to display the picture. This isn't an Art Gallery or a Museum. It is a family forum that needs to be aware of that. We have to respect the wishes of members, some are paying members. The LINK is the best way to accomplisth this.

I did a paper on the various Davids in college. Not much an art guy myself, I came to really appreciate the intricate work the artists did. How they can make stone flow like silk in the wind is fascinating.





I think you're expecting too much, Fuzz. Not everybody can appreciate the nude human body as art. Even those that can might not be able to be artistically objective when they know the person inside that nude human body. I gotta say that the idea of looking at a friend's naked body makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, even (or maybe especially) when that friend requests it - no matter how artsy fartsy I'd like to appear.

As an occassional visitor to this forum I must complain about the gratuitous display of male reproductive organs in the previous post...:-3

To answer your initial question; no. Then again, we haven't seen the artwork in question and until we do, that's a difficult question to answer as art and pornography have historically been considered to fit in the same categories, depending upon the specific work. In other words, it depends.

However, having said that, as with most art, it's already been done and there is a precedent here on ForumGarden of a member posting a nude self-portrait. I say that it's okay. If anyone questions that, precedence overrules.

I would be interested in viewing your picture because it also represents how you perceive yourself. Draughtsmanship is merely a technicality.
