It’s over; Senator Obama will soon be Mr. President.

Change, coming together, unity, bipartisanship, and a lot of promises to keep.

I am not sure what each American expects, I am listening to a Congressman tick off all the things the new President is going to do from fixing health care to education, to jobs and on and on.

On January 21st reality will hit, and in a few years there will be a lot of idealistic people who will be disappointed. The rest of America will have forgotten all the promises just as they always do.

I have saved each page from the Obama website and downloaded his “Blueprint for America, so we will see.

I hope one thing comes true and that is that an African American as President of the United States will give a positive role model for every African American child.

One thing stands out for all to see, like the results or not, anyone who puts his mind and soul and effort into a goal can achieve it in America.

Hillary Clinton didn't put mind and soul and effort into becoming President this year? John Edwards didn't? Rudolph Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, John McCain? Only one person who puts his mind and soul and effort into a goal can achieve it in America if the goal's becoming President. As a generality, only those people with at least a minimum level of intelligence and determination can achieve it in America irrespective of how much they put their mind and soul and effort into a goal. The also-rans are equally worthy of respect and resources.

Fred who?

Exactly.
