NO SOLICITING.....

is there some other language I should be using here for those of the religious persuasion who insist upon their weekly saturday morning visit by either a pair of well dressed young lads in dark suits, or 2 ladies of various age, size and physical capability, or one kindly adult and one innocent child???



I do not subscribe to door to door solicitation of any kind. It quite frankly boggles my mind that anyone would walk up to strangers homes and knock on their door repeatedly in these days and ages of not knowing who is on the other side of the door with whatever kind of an agenda.



My sign quite simply says "Please no soliciting"

I do not really want to make it any more specific however the ones who disobey my sign have only been those members of the religious belief that makes it their mission to promote religion door to door.

I would like to make it clear to them that if I reject them once, I am not going to change my mind. I want them to understand they will not convert my daughter when I am unavailable.

It seems my crazed pair of barking dogs is of no match for their determination to get someone, anyone to open my door to them.

Minks this might work if you have it printed in huge letter and laminate it placing it right next to the door bell. :wah: I think they are told to ring no matter what signs say.

I'm looking for something like they have on car alarms now. It simply states "you should step away from the vehicle". Mine would say "Don't touch the door bell, it is wired with electricity, please go away".

I like the suggestion of answering the door stark naked.

The best thing is to point to the sign, say it out loud to them, and shut the door. Don't forget if the same people come back, you can sue them for trespass. So, ask for their names the first time round. Be civil but firm.

This doesn't look good for you I'm afraid.

You might have to make a bigger sign with more specific terms on it.

You're using the wrong words on the sign, that's all. They don't think they're soliciting. Change it to be more explicit.

"No salesmen, no evangelists".

My uncle saw them coming one day and got naked to answer the door for them. They've never returned.:wah:

As for the people at your door I presume you are talking about JW's instead of hiding or being abusive just ask to be put on their 'do not call' list.

And you know they tell great jokes about all you people who hide behind sofas, send the kid to answer, pretend to be deaf, non English speaking ect ect.

one I heard was about a guy who said he didn't need their preaching because god had spoken to him personally..

Wow said the sister at the door 'you are the first person for thousands of years that God has spoken to personally, what did he say'?

The guy turned bright red said 'I don't remember' and slammed his glass front door which then shattered.

The sister turned and said calmly 'it wouldn't have been anything about people in glass houses would it'?

The whole group had a good laugh at that one..:wah:

-one time they were preaching to me, I asked them...what about blood transfusions?

My dad loves religous people coming to the door. It doesn't matter what kind, he knows the bible so well he can trip them all up. They leave more confused than when they came. All I have to say is you better know your lines well if your going to come to our door.:wah:
