I hate my cookies!

Post by Odie »

sometimes things pop up saying, are cookies enabled?

when I check, yes they are enabled.

why would this keep popping up?

what are cookies for and what do they actually do?

thank you, please explain in terms I can try and understand.

Hi Odie,

Cookies enable different sites to keep tabs on where you've been. They scan your harddrive and gather information on sites that you've been on.

You have to go to 'tools' on your internet options and set your 'privacy' section higher. By doing this, sometimes you're not able to visit some sites because you're not allowing enough cookies.

I have mine on medium and it works...

exceptions, if I don't want cookies, then I type in that web site?

Are you sure Odie...have you gone into tools and internet options? They have a site there where you can regulate the amt of cookies that you don't want. Do you have a Dell XP or Vista?

I have vista, so when clicking on tools, I click on options, then privacy.

Yes, click on internet options, privacy, and there's a sliding bar to set the internet site for cookies. I slide mine up to medium, and really I can access all sites and don't have any popups:-6
