Shopping with my wife leaves me free to browse the stores and one of my favorite things is to look at the tags on clothes. You learn lot looking at tags, things like what the garment is made of, how to clean it, and the size although that can be confusing because what they heck is the difference between S, M, L and 6, 8 and 10 and what’s the difference between a 4T and a plain old 4?

Most of all you learn geography; looking at clothing labels is a tour of the world. I have come to the conclusion that was it not for Sri Lanka, China and Guatemala that Americans would be running around nude these days. It is nearly impossible to buy a piece of clothing not made in some far off place in the world, generally Asia (I think the politically incorrect Orient has a nicer flair though) or South America. Thank God for outsourcing, it’s cold in most of America these days.

Besides who wants to buy a lovely dress made in Brooklyn, NY? :yh_rotfl

I shop the internet for made in USA clothing. You can still buy jeans, socks, T-shirts and fleece sweat clothing made here.

4 T is for the slim taller person and a 4 is average build and height determined by a world fashion industry standard.

although Britain europe and Australia have a different sizing mechanism.

If you told me you wore a 4 or even a 4T I'd think you were around the age of 4 years.

I have since learned that 4T is for a four year old Toddler, but there is another size for a four year old without the T and that still eludes me.
