My sausage and bacon is as pure as the driven snow. I am totally organic.
No, seriously though, its a bit of a disaster alright. Well, they will just have to recall everything and sort it out, whatever has happened, its not good enough
They are trying to work out how the hell this happened, but I am afraid its not going to be good for a lot of Irish Farmers. I guess it all goes back to industrial farming, and the problems that seem to arise from that. Oh well, its not like our economy is in ribbons already, our banks are broke, or our government are running around like headless chickens is it? :-2
Incidently, I love sausages. :p

said in the paper today that apparently stale loaves have been mulched together with the plastic wrapper still on them for use as food for the pigs. Its the plastic thats causing the toxins. they still havent got a list of exactly what to avoid but are suggesting we check labels for irish souced pork,, even on pizzas? anything that could have pork meat in or on.

jimbo;1080609 wrote: Common whelk
Distribution in scandinavian waters
Maximum length: 13 cm.
Appearance: The shell has a dirty yellow-brown to whitish colour, while the soft parts are grey-white with black patches.
Depth: 5-1 200 m.
Environment: The common whelk lives on all types of bottoms, but is most common on soft bottoms.
Misc: The common whelk has well developed siphons that are often supported by half tubes or grooves in the shell. With the use of these it is able to smell its food and eventuell predators.
Classification: The common whelk is a member of the neogastropods, which is a snail under the molluscs.
I like to chew on a good whelk :yh_rotfl

I had to laugh though, on RTE they reported all pig meat products should be destroyed or taken back to the shop you bought them at.
my son and I were reading an Irish based forum yesterday there were postings like is bacon really included? I eat pork but only with apple sauce will that make it ok? and I only eat bacon joints once a month and egg and bacon on sundays will this mean I only get a little bit of cancer? :yh_rotfl
