It's all paid for at a real good seafood restaurant in town plus we get to close early at 2pm so everyone can go. Working in HR, I'll still have to 'work' at the party to help make sure everyone's having fun. Sometime that's more of a chore then it's worth.
Hmmm, maybe I should call in sick. :sneaky:
did you volunteer to 'work at the party?

I do hope your party does turn out fun!
Hubby's Christmas party is this Saturday at the Elk's Lodge. I keep thinking about the show Roseanne for some reason! :-3

Nah, put vodka in the punch and take your camcorder.
Then next year when they hassle you, you can say 'leave me alone or I'll email everyone the video clip of your tabletop striptease/ your snog with the boss/ your knickers on top of the christmas tree, etc. They'll be too pi55ed to remember ...............and you'll have a nice peaceful year! :yh_rotfl

I know what you mean by not wanting to go and it still being work. Our club has its party coming up Sunday for the employees and customers. When I "worked" it, I got no help. I now schedule others to work it and they get help from me. The difference this year is that I will get paid for helping out. The officers there are quick to agree when you word it, "Either I get paid this year or you are helping behind the bar". :wah:

I love my hubby's work gatherings but it's a tiny local company and we're all close friends so it's more like a family get together than a work thing.

We've decorated the office at work..........so Christmasy.

When the diva was employed with us, this was HER production. This year, we who are left

, did a great job without her. Our party will be in the office on the 23rd. Everyone will bring a covered dish and just put the food and beverage on a table. We all just "dig in".
No Christmas bonus this year. No surprise. Oh well.
