Hiya Ladylynnie welcome to the Garden, good to have you on board.

A good plant for the summer month is Clematis & an all year round one is Honeysuckle, the scent from the flowers in the evening is beautifull x

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do with a hillside? I really don't want to have to mow it this summer so was thinking about maybe putting down plastic, a few large rocks, wood chips, and maybe some flowers. Any ideas? Also, is there any type of flower or bush that repels spiders?
