Greater Manchester have voted No to the proposed congestion charges losing the councils the chance of £3 bil from the TIF. :-6

Manchester Congestion Charge - GMPTA - TIF

The thought of paying £5 to get in and out of Manchester made me vote against the proposals.

I used to flit around on a Lamborghini when I lived there and it was always difficult overtaking even on Upper Brook Street.

I have to admit I only travel close to the city to go to football.

If I travel in, I generally get the metrolink, it's cheaper than parking.

It was the local businesses suffering the charges that helped me make my decision, the charges would inevitably be passed on to us the consumer.

I cannot see any reason to charge people to get into Manchester, but it makes a lot more sense to charge people to leave. They would make a fortune...:wah:

I love Manchester, it is probably my favourite city and i can't praise it enough. The people are fantastic.

How ever, i did notice that a lot of the bus services are free to passengers around the City..What's the problem?
