There's a village in Austria called 'Freaking'. (OK, that's a euphimism)

There's a village called Intercourse in Pennsylvania

There's a town in Norway called Hell

There's a village in Orkney called Twatt

There are the towns of Condom and Brest in France

Anyone got more?

I was hiking in Gascony a few weeks ago and ended up in Condom. Must have somehow dropped the cleaning cloth out of my reading glasses case, and popped into the local optometrist shop to get a new one. So now I clean my glasses with a neat wiper with Condom written on it.

There's a town called Christmas in, I think, Wisconsin.

And a place called Tittisee in the BlackForest in Germany.

Just for starters. Most Aussie place names - like Woooooolloooooomoooooolooooo seem to have foreigners in stitches.

Back when the place was a colony it had a different spelling. The teacher was getting on - he'd been a Captain of Artillery in World War One - and he'd given the same lesson once a year ever since the Armistice, he was used to the reaction.
