That's astounding stuff, jimbo, and it also gives me the shudders.

I love the idea of being able to tailor genes to eradicate birth defects and disease (let's leave alone the cost and the classism inherent in it's affordability for now), but when it comes to task-specific modifications, I would worry about the creation of sub-cultures and "gene bias". Sounds like socio-political sci-fi, I know, but human beings have a thing for societal sorting, do they not?

(Tsk! What is it about all this anti-human stuff I see so much of on here lately? So insulting. )
