Why does this make me smurk reading it?

It looks funny, feels weird to read and yet strangely I'm kind of pleased with myself for understanding it.

I wonder if it works for all languages, not just english?

The first and last letter thing makes a lot of sense. In speed reading they only glance at sections of the page. I wonder if your post could be read as easily by a speed reader?

Whoa.. good thing you explained that.. I thought it was flashback city there for a second.. interesting though.. I used to index newspaper articles and reading and comprehending quickly became a habit.. so I can see where this makes sense...
