HA! to all you guys who have ever complained about woman drivers!

I was reading that a recent study shows that women are actually better drivers than men! :guitarist

In a recent study released by Quality Planning, an analytics company that validates policyholder information for auto insurers, women came out on top.

The study analyzed different kinds of vehicle code violations (traffic violations) and then compared how many times men were cited versus women. The conclusion was that men break more traffic laws and drive more dangerously than women. Because they violate laws designed to make the roads safer, men cause more accidents and expensive damage.

Sorry Guys! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl :driving:

I was the first lady cab driver in East London many years ago.I used to get the blokes saying.....oh you aint a bad driver for a woman:rolleyes:. I also remember somebody saying to me that if you could go round Hyde Park Corner at 5.30pm you could drive anywhere in the world.....well I did and quite a few times but to drive in London now is a complete nightmare.I still do it as I have to go there quite alot but for all the money in the world I could not do it as a job now.Do I regard myself as a good driver....................you bet yer life I do.

I agree.....as long as women drivers stay away from text messeging, making calls on the cell phone, putting on make-up and combing hair, drinking that coffee, and looking for that thing in her pocketbook....while driving that 2000 lb vehicle 55 MPH.

I, ofcourse, do none of those things while driving. ;)

statistics, lies, damn lies and statistics

:)

seriously though, i have to agree that my wife is a great driver, there's good and bad i suppose, but the one thing about those kind of stats is that they do actually provide an accurate record of whats going on out on the roads that you really can't argue with:driving:

Never mind bad drivers, how about bad posters, I replied the below to the wrong thread...:wah:

anyway: Try Try again:

When looking at the raw data of how many accidents men get into vs women you are correct, but you cannot look at that way because there are more men drivers on the roads than women and they drive more miles and longer hours.

So when you look at it more statistical as in number of accidents per mile driven, sorry ladies, men are better. Men: 5.1 accidents per mill miles, women 5.7 accidents per mill miles

Men vs Women Drivers?

New info:

There is no victory here, in the USA 40,000 lives are lost on the roads each year. Can you imagine the outcry if this was the number of soldiers being killed?

In Ireland New Years morning the following was reported: 3 teens dead 2 critical:

Boy (16) behind wheel as three friends killed - National News, Frontpage - Independent.ie

I learned and grew up with a manual transmission. I was a mechanic/manager at a car rental company for 7yrs. I LOVE working on vehicles and getting all dirty and oily...yes, tomboy here and proud of it! I can drive about anything and am not afraid to try to drive anything new.

Hubby is a scary driver...at least he scares the hell outta me. He's had accidents and tickets...quite a few. I, on the other hand, have never had an accident, never had a ticket and have never been pulled over. At 44 that's quite an accomplishment. :D (yes, I'm knocking on wood!!) :yh_rotfl

I taught both my daughters to drive and they are both excellent drivers...hubby taught his daughter and she drives just like him.:eek::yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I'm rarely on the cell phone while driving, I tell people I'll call them back, and if it's something really important I'll pull over somewhere.

I do get PO'ed at idiot drivers tho, I don't have much patience with them at all. :sneaky::D

Actually, I was thinking about this a bit more and here are some interesting facts.

In the USA there are 196,165,667 licensed drivers.

There are 40,000 deaths due to road accidents per year. This works out to be 0.02% of drivers killed each year.

In Iraq there are 200,645 US soldiers deployed. On average there have been 536 soldiers killed each year which is 0.26%.

Therefore it is only marginally safer to drive on the roads in the USA than it is to fight in Iraq.

I guess to it would depend where you are here in the US, out here in the rural areas it's safer i think because it's fewer cars to deal with. I know I went to Washington D.C. once and that traffic scared me half to death! :-2 :driving: :yh_rotfl
