am I weak in giving a dame when yet more normal people die around the world?

No. Empathy and compassion are two highly admired traits in a person.

your not weak, its shows you care!

look at my threads sometimes about Canadian soldiers dying in Afghanistan, I don't personally know any of them, but I care.

I care about people dying who do not deserve to die and ones that do, are still here.

I care in general how people treat each other.

Its nice you still care. Nice that you still have the energy to do so.

Some of us are so worn down by the fighting and the bickering that we have pretty much closed ourselves off.

I find myself quite cold about people but will still find myself heartbroken when I hear about an abused cat or dog.

We are never too weak to care, but it maybe more stronger because we care. I thinkit is the weak who don't care.

No, not at all are you weak, but it can make one vulnerable to propaganda ploys on certain issues.

Propaganda is always used to touch an emotional nerve and avoid the rational nerve.

Many of us do care, but I am not sure how much true empathy we can feel unless we have shared a similar pain or outrage or sorrow. But, sometimes, caring is enough.
