George Bush will certainly be missed if only for his blunders and sheer comical times he has given us all in 8 years.

I will not miss GW either at all. And I already think Obama is doing one hell of a job already! GW was on tonight giving his farewell speech...and of course as he always does, talked about 911. Not a speech goes by without him mentioning it.

As Oscar is for ever the old cynic...I fear that 9/11 will be used in American history as the Israeli's use the holocaust.
We had our own death and destruction brought to us after 9/11 by Al-Quaeda in The London Tube bombings. Many Al-Quaeda suspects have been tracked and brought to justice since but you don't hear our Prime Minister banging on about our bombings as Bush does. 9/11 was the only half believable excuse that Bush had for illegally invading Iraq. He has to stick to it now.

I've heard that your government doesn't constantly rehash it either. Bush in his speech last night said something to the effect that "American's have moved on from the disaster but I haven't". Obviously since you have to mention it in every speech you give! I was over it a year later...I've got kids/family and other stuff on my mind.
We have a show over here called the View and on the anniversary of the disaster one of the hosts was saying "I was afraid to walk out of my house". Come on! Get over it. The other hosts were IMO secretly laughing at her. I know I was. Just another day.
He will go down as the worst prez in modern history and he can take Dick with him who was possibly the scariest VP of all time. :-5:-5

It really makes you wonder why he takes it so personally??
No doubt it was a henious act but the fact is, the planes were flown by Saudi pilots and not Iraqi. I didn't see him try to invade Saudi illegally but of course, he wouldn't dare would he?
We also lost many British lives in 9/11 and our PM could rightly bang on about it if he thought it would get Britain a sympathy vote.
I think that Bush does not see it as an act against the West (Which it was as we had bombings here and in Bali as well) but an attack against his administration only. There-fore, he is a deluded numbnuts.
He knows he will go down in history as a loser illegally invading Iraq and bringing death and desruction to our troops and innocents in Iraq, but he needs a damn good excuse. At least Tony Blair has said that Britain invaded Iraq because AT THE TIME he believed Iraq to have wmd's. At least he admits he got it wrong. Bush will never do that, he hasn't got the balls.

I was reading about him last night and he has declared himself as a "war president". I wanted to throw up. No, he will never admit he was wrong and Dick is just as deluded as he is. Oh, his admin. tried blaming Clinton & Co. but that didn't fly and so he goes on and on. I think you may be right on your opinion that yes it was a slap to his admin. Pathetic.

The clue is in the fact that every time he brings up 9/11, he does not mention British lives lost nor the London Tube bombings or Bali that followed. It shows a totally self-obssessed bufoon who has taken 9/11 personally.
WAR PRESIDENT?? OH GOD, I NEARLY JUST WET MYSELF LAUGHING.
What a bloody insult to Churchill, Roosevelt, Truman, Wilson and Lloyd George :-5
Bush suffers illusions of Grandeur as well.

It was reported later in the day that Bush had been sectioned under the mental health act.

Our TV comedians have slated Bush for 8 years of merciless micky taking. They can't do it to Obama incase they are accused of being raciest. Biden is too sensible to mock so it leaves us with no-one to laugh at. Our comedians will soon find a replacement i'm sure. It just means that Gordon brown will be their sole source of hilarity now:-5:-5:-5

:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl That is just too funny!!!
I keep getting pop up's on my pc for Obama memorabilia.
In a shred of defence of Bush... we now have a prominent politician in GB coming out and basically blaming Bush for the entire Iraq war. It's on a thread called 'War on Terror' posted by Spot. Now, you would expect us Brits to totally agree with everything he has said........ WRONG. :wah: We are actually giving the Politician a hard time for waiting until Bush has five days left and then trying to squirm out of his part in the vote to invade Iraq.
So, we are not anti-American... We are capable of turning on our own idiots in government also. :-6

I quoted Bush saying it. That most American's have gotten over it except for him. That he thinks about it everyday and brings it up in every stinkin speech he gives. Didn't you watch his pathetic farewell speech? You wouldn't be up my arse then!

Only my opinion JAB as most American's have gotten over it. I just find Elizebeth Hasselbeck to be the most annoying member of The View. I find her to be way to far to the right for my taste and dismiss her blabber on the show. But of course the show does need one member who is completely right wing.:wah:

How peculiar?
Your country is in the grip of the biggest financial crisis since 1929 and you agree with the process that caused it.
Your country is in this mess part due to the bank chiefs creaming off and you support that....... How odd.
