Eight babies, at once no less, what a blessing, ain’t science wonderful?

Science may be wonderful but in the hands of dumb, irresponsible people, it is downright dangerous, sorry, no quarter here. Anyone who has six children and intentionally gives birth to eight more is dumb, period.

My word how can I say that, after all even the doctors said it was not their responsibility to determine how many children a women should have even in the event of fertility treatment or implantation.

Some people will be quick to point out that how many children this women has is not my business or anyone else for that matter. Well, not quite, who do you think paid for the 42 doctors and nurses involved in this or the extensive hospitals stay for the mother and the eight children? If she had insurance, all the people with the same coverage did or if it was through an employer it was the employer and all the other employees or if she had no insurance, then the taxpayers paid. :-5

According to her family she is not on welfare, but she lives with her mother and father who filed for bankruptcy last March and the home they live in doesn’t’ exactly look like it will be too comfortable for seventeen people.

Give me a break, there is no such thing as total independence, if you do dumb, irresponsible things everyone pays.

Sorry Mom, as soon as we get past all the goo goo, ahhhs and oohs when reality hits see what it takes to raise 14 kids and tell us if you need any help. Let’s see, five diapers a day times eight, times 365. Oh, heck it’s only 14,000 or so.

However, as irresponsible as this situation may be, it is far from the winner.

In American 70%, that is seventy percent; of African American children are born to single mothers. :-1 What do you think is there any connection to ongoing poverty, high unemployment, crime and gangs? Besides what business is it of ours if a few million women want to have a baby on their own, I am sure they too can afford it.

Well, now you see , you have over looked one very important detail .

when these women that have litters of babies , the media attention alone is a huge source of income. Good Morning America , Mon tel etc,, these all pay well.

Then of course companies like Pampers who donate a years worth of diapers and Gerber who donate formula , baby food, furniture, toys ,,etc...and then the community's always gets in the picture so when the folks from the trash mags like the enquire show up they get their pics taken while changing one of the 8 litter mates.

so, for the first 12 to 18 months that woman that decided to have fertility treatments for what ever reason ( I can not imagine a doctor worth his education agreeing to treat a mother of six with fertility treatments) anyway for the next year and a half or so the veteran mother of 14 will be' princess for the day ' .

42 doctors, 16 nurses, 7 weeks hospital stay for one (mom) before the births and another six or seven week stay times 8 in intensive care for the babies . ( 31 years ago, my son was born with a heart defect ,he spent 10 days in intensive care before they were able to stabilize him to go home, the hospital bill which was partly covered by my insurance was over $75,000.000 .)

It boggles the mind what the bill for 8 babies for 7 weeks now days will come to.

I realize I have been rude and sarcastic in giving my unsolicited opinion of this, I will apologize to any one here on FG if I offended .

I am a firm believer that children are gifts and each one is specail. And giving birth is a natural and normal part of life except when some darn mother of six and a doctor 'play' God and turn what is a natural part of being human beings into litters of 8 .

that very same thought crossed my mind when i first read about this. i had 3 kids all were conceived in the natural /normal way so i am clueless when it comes to fertility treatments but it stands to reason that those treatments were discovered/invented for women that are naturally barren ain't it ?

If this is indeed true, than why the fertility treatment? I am also boggled why the treatment was used for a woman who already has 6 children.

After reading this thread I backed away from the comp for a few moments to try to digest this. I had 2 children and knew for a fact that I didn't want any more. The late night feedings, measles and colds or the flu, teething problems etc. What in the world would a woman do with that many babies? A person can't feed them all at the same time at 4 hour feedings and when one cried it would wake the others up. The woman must have nurses in to help her or at least other women because she and her mother could not do it alone.

There has to be some sort of emotional or mental problem with her. Or, maybe, she plans to sell them after all the media dies down? Maybe she didn't count on all the attention she would receive. It wouldn't be the first time a persons plans have gone awry. She has a fortune in children there. Perhaps she heard of surrogate mothers but wouldn't get enough money popping one at a time. This way she can sell them off to people who can't have children and end up a rich lady.

I don't know the answer but it sounds like a walk through the proverbial hell to me.
