Or isn't someone close to him (part of his staff) suppose to do some little bit of research or something before he goes public with names that are going to embarrass him in the near future ?

I went on to find yet another 'questionable' pick of President Obama.
It seems that his choices for filling the top spots have been pretty lame, it seems every few days there is another news artical about someone the President had picked for a top spot who has had to step back or has had some shady dealings/business in their political past .

Obama Pick for Director of National Intelligence Has Conflicted Past
"The basic obligations of public service are undermined when an official has a financial interest in the projects his organization is overseeing," said POGO Executive Director Danielle Brian.
This is just to show what "Admiral Blair told the Washington Post he did not recuse himself "because his link to EDO was not of sufficient 'scale' to require it."
Admiral Blair--then-President of the Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), which was evaluating whether or not the F-22 met the legal requirements for multi year procurement--was also a stockholder and board member for the EDO Corporation and Tyco International Limited, both subcontractors for the F-22."

"At a total of $354 million per plane this new information shows the F-22 is not only the most expensive but also the most difficult fighter aircraft to maintain -- and it isn't even experiencing combat stress," said Danielle Brian, POGO executive director.

The first one I remember clearly was when he named New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson who was President Obama first choice for the Commerce Department.
Governor Bill Richardson withdrew after disclosure of a grand jury investigation into state contracting.
The list of questionable choices and "oops, we didn't think it would come up " kind of stories are really starting to become common.
I think one or both of those two people with tax problems said something to the effect of "oops, we didn't think it would come up "
And what is with all the Clinton re runs?
President-elect Obama again reached back to the Clinton administration ....
