It was on the news this morning here. They said the girl wouldn't pick up her shoe, and that was the response given to her.

Fair comment but on the other hand if someone tries to provoke you the only one responsible for how you react is you. It's reasonable to hold police officers to a high standard and a mouthy fifteen year old girl in a police cell is hardly frightening.

Although you don't know what had happened just before. I once saw two store detectives bouncing a youth off a plate glass window-on the face of it excessive force but one of their colleagues had been stabbed and kicked in by his mates two days before which puts a slightly different light on it.

Is their anymore news on this one as to why he kicked off on her?

In court, they didn't read the transcript of my interview as it went on for two and a half hours. They read the transcript of some of it and my lawyer said the last thing we want is the judge hearing that tape. I can understand what you mean as we had a real problem with teenagers in my village. They have no respect for anything or anybody. They haven't changed, they have just moved on and are causing trouble in another area. Now those residents are begging the police to do something about them. We also had a problem with teenagers racing in cars and it was only a matter of time before something really serious happened. One night a kid driving a souped up car speeding hit a brick wall not far from my house. All 3 died and at their inquests, it was heard they were well over the drink limit and had cocaine and weed in their system.

The law is he law and if the police cannot stick to it then what hope have we of getting the kids to obey it - they act as their taught to by the adults and that sure teaches them the right way to behave.

I think i'm safe in saying that if this was a British cop and it was on camera as in the vid..... his feet wouldn't touch the ground. The worst she was doing was yelling at them. How can he plead not guilty with that evidence?? I'm shocked at his plea.

It's simple really if you don't know how to handle that situation you should find another career. Nurses get abused, bank tellers get abused, politicians get abused ......but they don't go in and attack someone like a bloody Hyena.

Did anyone ever consider this little punkette just might need to be smacked around, BEFORE SHE GETS TO YOUR CAR!! I highly doubt that he will be fired, nobody around here on a jury is going to convict him, half the jury will probably have had their car stolen. I have to say that i stand by my initial reaction that it was over the top for a 15 yr old girl and no way should he have punched her. However I can see the other side of the coin here. I posted the article from a British paper who did not give us the full background before the girl was in the cell.

If she had stolen the car and indeed ploughed into a family and killed the lot of them, there would be very little sympathy for her. I remember when the 3 young lads died very near my home.....there was an out-pouring of grief for them and i felt guilty for thinking 'Thank God there was not another car on the road as they would have taken out innocents with them'. I still feel bad feeling like that.

We have a big problem in this country with teenagers. It's seems they go to a special school to learn their 'Human rights' and i know the police here must be under huge pressure to not lose their tempers with them.

Yes, I want more, much more. I want the police to respond by using the law not by breaking it. I want the police to be seen as above suspicion not as part of the problem.

Where do I claim the "poor innocent" is a "little angel" - regardless of who or what she is the police must act within the law or they are worse than useless.

Anyone who has worked with teenagers has wanted to do that at some time or another. I cerrtainly did. But I didn't ever do it. It's called being a professional. That policeman is not a professional as I understand the term. He's an abuser and a part of the problem.

Ahh yes the old adage of measuring a child by an adults yard stick. You want this girl to have your wisdom and piece of mind after only being on earth for 15 years. She is just an embryo within your society.

She is also supposed to comprehend in the future not to be alarmed at the force of the law? She is now to sit and be proper? Those who were supposed to gain her confidence and trust have now abused that endeavour to the detriment of that childs psychological welfare. She'll run next time a policeman tries to approach her and because of it probably beaten again .

Each society raises it's own children and therefore deserves the children they raise. Cop it sweet Scrat, you now have a product you'll have to cope with forever .
