The Saudis have the right idea. Oh I know its not politically correct but its the right thing.

We could learn a thing or two from them.

CNN) -- Police in the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca Wednesday arrested a woman for violating the country's ban on women driving, according to the Saudi English-language daily Arab News.

The woman, whose nationality and name were not released but who was described as being in her 20s, attempted to flee when she realized police had spotted her driving, Saudi authorities said.

"The woman tried to escape when she saw a police car and in the process hit another car, which was slightly damaged," Maj. Abdul Mushin Al-Mayman, a police spokesman, told Arab News. According to the spokesman, the woman was turned over to the Saudi Prosecution and Investigation Commission for investigation.

Women are barred from driving in most of Saudi Arabia, with rural areas being the exception.

It is not known how frequent such arrests are in Saudi Arabia, and arrest statistics are not released.

The issue has become one of the more controversial ones for Saudi Arabia in recent years. While women's rights activists in the country have been openly campaigning for the right to drive, many high ranking officials maintain it is a societal issue and will be resolved only when Saudis feel the time is right.

Last year, more than 125 women signed and sent a petition to Saudi Interior Minister Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, asking that the ban on women driving in the kingdom to be overturned.

No no, its all a cultural misunderstanding, see the Saudi's love their women so much, they don't want to confuse their pretty little heads with manly things like cars, or owning property, or being allowed to walk around on their own or any of that decadent Western nonsense.

See its a religious thing as well, and you can't discuss that because its not allowed, because people get upset about religion quite a lot nowadays, so we can't talk about it. Best to just ignore it, and let it fester away, it will be fine, just like everything else is always fine when you ignore it. Israel is the problem, if we could just get rid of Israel, all these crazy Arabs would wake up in the morning and love us and all want to be liberal westerners again you see. :rolleyes:

But if we can't do that then the best way to understand this sort of moral code is to just adopt it, by stealth yourself, why not bring in loads of people who believe it into your own civilization, as economic immigrants, over a long period of time, and gradually by attritition wear down and demoralize your own native populations so that they begin to accept the unacceptable.

But of course, don't criticize that, or try to confront the reality of cultural surrender or the PC thought police will be around to re-educate you so that you will learn to love your enemies as your friends, trust your political traitors as national patriots, and hail your economic oppressors as "wealth liberators".

taught myself to drive, men's ways of thinking is to drive beyond speeding, no signals used, cut others off, more men have accidents, they are to aggressive, they know this......but cannot contol it.:-5:-5

I think you'll find very rich women get away with driving in Saudi arabia , and women who are exempted under the law.
