It doesn't happen often, but with this, I have no words to express how I feel......... This is absurd. For the record, most anti-abortionists would not agree with this kind of lunnacy.
I don't want to turn this into a religious debate but where is the Pope's compassion for the child?

Do you recall when the chemical works in northern Italy exploded and released a toxic cloud of dioxins that drifted for hundreds of miles. Every woman in the early stages of pregnancy was highly likely to have a severely deformed baby but the Church's reaction was the same - if any woman had an abortion they would be excommunicated.

This is more than absurd. Since when did a murderer ever get excommunicated?
why is abortion the excummunication ticket?? Fascist pigs!!!!!
And what's this about alleged rape? She's ****ing nine years old!!!! There's no "alleged" about it!!!!

They would rejoice because when a child dies it goes straight to heaven as an innocent-at least I think that is the case.

Its days like this that I am glad I am a lapsed Catholic.
Still there are plenty of other Christian churches that are equally in the gutter when it comes to sexual morality I suppose, though arguing who is worse is not a great advertisement for Christianity or any religion, in general, is it?
And they had been doing so well, recently accepting Darwin and evolution, as well as the big bang. Seems they just can't deal with the abortion one, or the celibacy for priests issue either. Oh well, thats religion for you.

Nope they used to go to "limbo" becsuse they were considered without sin. They changed it though I don't think Limbo and Pergurtory exist anymore.:rolleyes:

I'm a lapsed Catholic also, but kids go to Catholic school. They would go to the local public school but we don't exactly live in the best school district. Jeez, can't wait till Q makes him communion and then we won't have to go to mass till Sept.

Not sure about limbo but purgatory is in the USA
