So the interest rate stays the same for another month, how nice. Has anyone seen any of these billions that keep on being mentioned in the news because I haven't. They must be injecting them into the economy very carefully, like straight into the bank profit sheets and bypassing the rest of us.

BBC NEWS | Business | Bank keeps interest rates at 0.5%

The only way the government will increase money in the economy is by giving us all a brown envelope full of twenties because who is going to borrow from the banks with todays economy. I especially like how they are giving money to the banks "in the hope that banks will eventually find it easier to lend to companies and individuals"-- because they have always shown their social responsibilities and conscience in the past.

:(:(

:(:( It's funny should post this. We have just had some policies come to fruition and normally never hear from my bank. Suddenly, we have been in-undated with letters of offers of 'help' in investing our windfall. What they seem to miss, is that we 'invested' for years and that's why they have come to fruition. Why would we want to 'invest' it again? No thanks, I'll stick to the original plan to spend the lot.

Mind you, we did get clobbered for 40% tax.

What I'm starting to notice is that everyone is getting, well, nervous. Tempers are shorter. Two of my friends have lost their tempers bigtime over things they never would have normally, in the last week (one with me over a misunderstanding we have since cleared up, another with someone else). Ok, it could be coincidence, but I think when the Banks collapsed everyone went into shock, and only now is it starting to wear off. I'm not sure what it means, but it's going to be an interesting summer.:(

It's a co-incidence you say this as a police officer told me very recently that road rage and assault charges have increased hugely since the credit crunch. :-2:-2

I said OK Officer.....I won't hit you any more :D (joke).
