I just don't get it. You mean to tell me that one person on a cargo ship, a trained sniper with just one rifle couldn't wipe out 4 or 5 pirates in a small craft at 400 yds? This would negate the rocket launchers that some of the pirates have, where the range is no where near as far as a snipers capability. It seems ludicrous to me that this has become such an International and costly problem. Some of these cargo ships are three times the length of a football field and 5 stories high and attacked by a boat with an Evinrude 120 hp outboard engine, 4 or 5 men. C'mon folks, get real.

I'm looking for a news story I read today. Two NATO ship captured 7 pirates, it was a Canadian (the Winnepeg) and US ship that captured them. They dumped their arms overboard, but for a grenade launcher or two. They released all the pirates, because since they were not attacking a ship, they couldn't be held. That's what I remember of the story. I'm not saying kill them, but incarcerate them, yes!

I tried taking my mother in law out at point blank range in daylight but missed.

Its not as easy as it sounds.
