Do you believe in karma?
I'm a big believer in karma. I'm watching it bite a guy at work in the butt and loving it. :wah:

I'm not sure how you can, Peg, there being so many miserable people who live lives of sheer hell despite their evident goodness and so many vile twats who go to their graves after a lifetime of abusing the less fortunate. Does the entirely undeserved suffering of those born maimed not figure in your calculations? Or are you relying on that invisible pie in the sky to even things out?

sometimes people get what they deserve
sometimes people dont get what they deserve
sometimes people dont deserve what they get
i tell you what i do believe though,, i believe nasty, selfish, vindictive, people will never know the feeling of true happiness and contentment:)

Well said Kaz. Selfish nasty people are ususally only concerned with themselves anyway. Seeing others suffer somehow makes them happy. Sick people out there.

Sticks and stones, Kaz, sticks and stones. Nasty, selfish and vindictive? I bet there's a stack of people agree with you, mind!
I'd do better in a Trappist monastery than online, that's what I reckon.

I agree Spot at my age I have seen it all. People are people they don't see themselves as vile or evil they are just getting by and will continue on daily as they are. Some of the nastiest people I know are perfectly happy just the way they are.
"What goes around comes around" - not always
"You reap what you sow" - not seen much of this either

Were you not having a go at me?
It's alright, I know you weren't really, I'm just being slightly restive on account of having been "on holiday" all week. I'll shake it off eventually.

I think Peg's original question was whether this happens on a purely random basis or whether it's a sign that points toward a Cosmic Law Of Retribution. Quite how a Cosmic Law Of Retribution fits the Christian paradigm I'm not sure, maybe Jesus really is a vindictive bastard after all.

I dont know if Karma is the master plan or not but I do believe intent is the key to perpetual motion.
Do good...inevitably doors filled with opportunities open. The trick is to "see"
Do bad...youve chosen a path that inevitably will lead to more bad.
Choices are critical to the type of life we want to unfold before us.
Not to imply life doesnt have its own little surprises independent of the path we choose.
