We have a lot of show and shines round this city and I love seeing those gorgeous old cars and trucks.

I like vintage cars cars but some of those are fairly hideous like the 58 Fleetwood. Not a big fin guy here.

Don't knock it I got my license in a Fleetwood station wagon loved those fins. :wah:

I'm not that old yet but I remember my parents used to have a 1964 Chevy Impala station wagon with the fins...it was a lemon:-5...I think it lasted a year...he traded it in for a Ford wagon. In fact he never bought a Chevy again.

They look great!

Some are quite beautiful, and some are just outrageous, but it's fun to see such creativity and imagination. Even the over-the-top models have charm and style.

Today's cars are boring! The Honda Civic is a good vehicle, but, damn, it's dull!

Even the colours of modern cars are boring. Take a look at the colours of the cars in that article, then compare them to what you see in a parking lot today.

We're never going to see such fantastic looking vehicles again, but I hope future models have more personality and individuality then what most of us drive today.

Is this thread all about cars or stuff that was around when we were younger? Just wondering.

Great now my keyboard is all sticky. I am a major gear head, Petrol Head for the folkes in the UK.

I can name all of those cars from memory. I have a nice library of automotive art including a book titled "Harley Earl and the Dream Machine" He was the man behind most of those magnificent curves that made Marilyn Monroe' look flat and boring.

Earl headed up GM's design department in the 50's and was personally responsible for all those luscious curves coming from GM. He inspired everyone else.

The wings! Tails! Torpedoes! I have always loved the classics. I have lost count how many of them I have owned. Currently my daily driver is an 2007 Mustang GT. It looks just like a 68. Classic styling all the way. I even made sure to get the classic spoked mag wheels. Ford's catalog name for them is "Bullitt" as the movie of the same name where the Green Stang had these same wheels.





This little curvy number is on my wish list also. But I may have to wait awhile.
