if someone very popular on FG posted something that you thought was very wrong

what would you do ??

keep quite

or speak up against it even though you knew the popular person had loads more allies than you and you would probably be about as popular as a rattle snake in a lucky dip bag if you did

You report something that's wrong, no matter who it is.

I wouldn't give a hoot who it was and tell them how I feel about their post or I'd hit the report post button.

i would say something,

without being ugly about it.

If it got down to proving my case,

i would,

without sounding arrogant and without any horribly cutting remarks.

Well, of course, ^ ^ THAT's ^ ^ a "best-case" scenario,

and if the popular person was also a personal friend,

i might be tempted to throw in a couple of barbs! ;)

I've lost more friends by speaking my mind in this forum, then I've kept. But the ones I have kept, I know I can say anything to and that they can say anything to me. Anytime. It's a proven fact.

I've been out of line a time or two. And gotten a gentle twack on the forehead from someone I respect in PM because of it. Sometimes a simple 'are you okay?' is all it takes to scare me straight and make me try to be nicer to folks for a bit...:o:D

I think you have to trust that you are respected more then you would think around here.. that you've proven yourself to be a gentle man, who is not out to hurt anyones feelings.

The question isn't what happens if you say something... rather, how are you gonna feel about yourself if you don't?

Besides, I don't think there is anyone more popular then yourself..:p

ps... what's a lucky dip bag?:-2

What do you mean by wrong?

Look at your signature.... Let go of your attachment to being right, and suddenly your mind is more open. You're able to benefit from the unique viewpoints of others, without being crippled by your own judgment.

Does this person have a point of view you disagree with? Are you educated enough on the point of view that you can debate it or have they said something most would find vile? If the person has said something vile to most it will have been picked up on by now and commented on wether they are popular or not. Popularity around here has never saved anyone from an ass wooping when deserved ;)

It isn't really like that here is it? The first thing I would do is PM the person and discuss it in private so that it does not become a public battle. Maybe it was not intentional to begin with.

That's the best you can do really.

I've seen lots on here that I don't agree with, lots that I think is total bollox, sometimes I've said what I thought, most times I don't. I try to pick my fights wisely, often it's not worth the effort when you know you're not going to change an opinion - after all it's only the internet, I'll switch it off when I'm done.

Man, if it's too late for "i'm-sorry's,"

and you don't care,

what is the point of your thread?

i sort of feel like it's pointed at me, 'cuz of the FTW pic,

but, dude! Oscar got you.

How can you not say something. You cant just walk on by and pretend it didnt happen. I'm always polite but I always say if I dont agree. I dont care who it is and sometimes I might come out of it with egg on my face but I'll always give it a bash if I think it needs adressing.

hater :wah::wah: Haven't you worked it out yet Jumbo...... Your attacks on the BNP do not put people off...... you simply make people look at them more closely. When they do look more closely, it is then they see OTHER policies on health, education, enviroment, crime etc that make a lot of sense that mainstram parties are failing to address right now. Every time you post anti-BNP proganda, you make one person look more closely at them. For every 10 people that do take take a closer look, 2 of those people may like other policies enough to vote for them. So you carry on Jumbo....... not so smart as you think eh?

So let me get this straight:

Y'all would RATHER vote for THIEVES and LIARS,

because they aren't "disgusting" to you???

Good luck with that...

i believe what Oscar is trying to do is to get y'all to look at ALL of the issues and ALL of the Partys.

i'm sorry to have to be the bearer of bad tidings, but NO Party is perfect.

If y'all would look over ALL of the issues,

and the WAYS that each party wants to handle them,

you might be amazed to find out that you DO agree with some of the folks you previously just immediately threw out because of some something that "disgusted" you.

Unfortunately, we're all finding ourselves voting for the "Lesser Evil," which means that ALL of the Partys have something "disgusting" about them.

Just saying...
