I answered the phone and the person said, Joan?

I said yes, who's calling please?



He used his real name, so I had nooooooooooo idea who it was!:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl



It was Mikeinie!:-6:-6

He has been in Toronto since he and his wife and two girls landed Tuesday!

They are staying with relatives just a 20 minutes drive from me and are having a fabulous time!:guitarist:guitarist:guitarist



He loves our heat-wave of 30C all week, as he used to live in Toronto and misses our hot summers!.....I told him he was crazy as he sat in an air conditioned home!:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

They leave Monday for Banff, which is in the province of Alberta in Canada, he has been there before but his family hasn't......so they will really enjoy seeing our mountains and huge park.



We talked about so much and it was so nice to him to phone me, its just great hearing a friendly voice from Ireland!

He is from Canada, so just regular English.

It was a shock......as I had no idea who he was when he said his full name....then once he said Mikeinie........I screamed with joy!

Ok, Oscar. I have just this minute dialled the number as given in your post - 00747 558652. I was finally answered with a recording telling me that the number is not recognised.

The reason I didn't expect this number to work is because there is no number that can be dialled from the UK that begins 00. Also, mobile phones start with the digits 07. Not James Bond.

The country code is 44 so from the USA you would dial 011 - 44 - 0747 558652. (The 44 replaces the first zero). :-6

I don't know where 011 comes from. There is absolutely no reason for me to dial as if I'm calling a UK mobile from outside of the UK. The number after the 44 is still wrong.

God I'm a numpty...... I was so tired last night when i posted it. It's actually........07747 558652 but don't ring it tonight as i've just this minute got in from the take-away and i've left it in the shop. :wah: I just rang them and they are dropping it round to me after they close up about 12.30 am. I'll be up late if you want to try it

011 is the code Americans use to dial out of America, so you wouldn't use it OM.

(I was talking to Odie really, although from Canada she might need a different code again.)

Look, i can speak some and i can understand some. I can't read Turkish :yh_rotfl I know what the first word means.
