I think the beaches in Ireland the UK are free to use. Unfortunately, we have to pay to sit on our beaches during the summer months in Noo Joisey. And bloody hell, with the amount of taxes that we pay here, we shouldn't have to pay for beach access.
I just paid $360 for 8 badges. Think that's 218 pounds...You have to wear this badge to get on the beach. This badge will be good from June to Sept. Wondering if anyone else has to pay to go on the beach?

That is ridiculous, it should cost nothing to go to the beach. It doesn't cost here, and I know it doesn't in California either.

Seems the city is just trying to bleed everyone dry. :-5 Beaches should be free. The taxes should take care of the upkeep. send them a letter anyway KE. I know I would. At least you would be able to get your two cents in.

Can't get away with that here Ducky. They have spotters...kids who walk up and down the length of the beach, who check for your badges:rolleyes: You either show it, or you're asked to leave the beach.

Nice. I live in the midwest, next to the muddy Mississippi. We got lots of sandbars that are passable beaches.

What would a daily badge cost for a tourist?
I've been to tons of beaches have never had to pay except on some islands where there are private beaches.

Our beaches are open to everyone. If you buy them early they cost $40 and $45 when late...which happened to me.
Badges per day are $8 and $22 for the week.
How can a large family pay these prices. That's why you have people coming to the beach at 5 PM when the badge checkers leave for the day.
Bloody robbery it is. I pay high taxes and still need to pay for the beach:-5

That is horrible, it will cut down on the tourist trade. It doesn't cost to go to the beach here, and it shouldn't. Are they going to charge you per bucket of sand to make sand castles!

Yep, as tourists when we visited Cape May a few years ago, we had to buy passes to use the beach. I didn't know that applied to residents as well, that is really outrageous for residents!!! :-5

Start charging the city for walking on your property to check your meters. Seriously its your property so send them a bill once a month.
